Be patient when investing: Nine women cannot give birth to one baby in one month!

One of my silliest mistakes in crypto investing is to deploy a huge proportion of my funds at one go in the bull cycle.

You guessed it. The price tumbled and I ended up holding the bag.

Rookie mistakes.

But that is quite common among new investors. It is as if it's imprinted in our DNA that we give in to FOMO every time the green candle prints itself long.

We want to win big, yes, but we also want to win big fast. That is the problem. The result is that we get rekt!

The root problem is our impatience.

Good things take time. Even having a baby takes nine months. It can't be rushed. Indeed, nine women cannot give birth to one baby in one month.

Deploying all of our funds on one trade has the effect of forcing it to give the results immediately. It does bring along its risks.

The alternative? Let the funds trickle into the trade gradually to mitigate the risks. Such as in DCA.

This lesson is especially useful if we think about our investments in new projects under development. They would need time to build. One example is the SPK Network. My approach is to buy a tiny bit of LARYNX every day with the spare Hive I gained from playing dCrops. Gotta give this baby some nutrients every day! When the time comes, it could be an asset that is substantial for me.

Of course, I have other assets that I invest as gradually as LARYNX, such as Hive, HBD, and LEO. The keyword is gradually. Gotta develop this patience to win this game steadily.

The bull market seems to be beckoning, the lesson on patience is even more important now.

P/S: This is not financial advice, and please do your own due diligence before investing.

The analogy doesn't make sense. It is common for births to take place in clusters.

In the natural world it is common for reproduction to take place in cycles. All the births for a herd or flock might happen in the same month.

The common mistake is for people to think that they have a diversified portfolio when they've simply invested in similar coins.

For example a HIVEan might say: I have a diversified portfolio because I own LEO, POB, CTP and CENT.

The coins are similar in form and are based on HIVE. So they are subject to the same changes in the market; So, the portfolio is not really diversified.

I mean we can’t put 8 non-pregnant women and one newly impregnated in a room to expect baby in a month.

Diversification is relative.

I love this example you gave "Nine women cannot give birth to one baby in one month" the image of cryptocurrency is created so that anyone who comes here comes with the expectation that I will come and as soon as I invest and my money will be a double. But as you said there is a time for everything and nothing is done before its time and until you are on time, you have to watch how wisely you spend your time.

This is what happens to me, i invested in AXS , when it was around 68 to 70$ and now it is close to 9 $, I invest almost 15k$ at that time and now i only have 2 to 3k $ remaining. NOw even don't have money to do DCA. Waiting is the only thing i can do now.

I see where you’re coming from.

I have a habit of trying to catch that falling knife. It doesn’t workout well, but in reality, I am trying to lower my cost basis each time by a certain amount.

Simply put, I could afford to put half into an asset or leave a limit order for a certain condition, but I deploy all my capital simultaneously, for sure.

An awareness the asset could go lower seems to escape me in my excitement. Times like these I rather aim for 20% like you mentioned in your previous posts.

Thanks! I need to write these to remind myself not to make those silly mistakes.

Times like this I feel like loading up a few K worth of BTC too, but ... Think rationally! :)

I was new to crypto two years ago and I made the same mistake that everyone does, I put all my money into the bull market and now I know a lot about it. And there's been a lot going on about her cycle so now I'm wondering why I did it but I haven't had to sell single of my coins yet and I'm waiting for the next bull market.
