I am staking those free and obscure tokens in my Hive-Engine wallet.
What's going on here?
I was checking through my Hive-Engine transactions and I found regular inputs of tokens I have never paid much attention to.
They are tokens like VBKT, NEOXAG, and VYB.
I found out that VBKT is a token from an account called kalivankush. Nothing to see there. :)
Next up. NEOXAG seems to be related to the Neoxian City, if I am not wrong. First time digging into this community. It seems like a decently strong one. Would explore more.
Lastly, VYB is a token from the Verify Your Brain tribe.
Just how much do I have of these tokens?

I figured someone must have airdropped them to me earlier.
Since they are appearing so regularly, i.e. increasing on the sideline through my curation efforts, there is no harm in keeping them, I think.
So the next thing I did was to go through my list of tokens in my Hive-Engine wallet and stake those tokens that are "stakable". This way I can be getting more tokens through the power of compounding. Afterall, I am posting and curating regularly. If someone I interacted with also has these tokens, I might get a small reward in those tokens.
No plans to buy, but just let it grow organically.
Who knows what could happen to these tokens many years later? I just treat it as extra perks Hive gives as free bets placed on speculative projects.
Would anyone be advising against doing that?

I also received them regularly on author rewards. Definitely a good perk on the Hive blockchain. One or more of them could potentially explode and become mainstream. You could also swap it for other tokens that are of a higher value.

While it's pennies so doesn't really matter, I'd encourage you to spend 5 mins researching each tribe.
If you can't see a path to sustainability, then they are eventually going to zero.
Maybe you're better off selling them and buying more LEO as they have a clear path toward sustainability? ;)
