Building my first half shoes

Hello hivans, I hope you are all having your best days. It's my first post after my introduction post last week. I haven't posted for a while because I'm not used to operating this app yet so I have to to request for the help of my friend to make it easier for me.
This is my first half shoes and I'm glad to share the processes with you all. It's a pair of shoes I love and always wanted to do aside the ones I normally do.

I started by drafting the pattern and transferring the pattern down to the leather then I doubled the leather to make the top to black and the one underneath brown and to also make it thick. I did the sewing of the tip. I also did the insole with leather board and Marco stain and then I applied some gum to stick them Up, wrapped it with a brown leather. I didn't build the sole since it's a ready made one from the factory so the job was made easy.
My conclusion on the lasting was with a pair of shoe last with half inch nails by nailing the insole to the shoe last, and also nailing the leather to the shoe last and insole so as to give the half shoe shape. After that I applied gum on in the insole and the leather sticked them together properly. I also applied gum on the insole and the sole and waited for about 5 minutes for the gum to dry a little before sticking together with the help of hammer and iron last. Afterwards I did the beating of the half shoe by removing gum stains and applying dye where necessary.

This is the end result I got after everything I did to get the result I wanted.

materials used are:

  1. Marco 2
  2. Black and brown shoe leather
  3. Gum
  4. Ready made sole
  5. Shoe stain
  6. Leather board
  7. Scissors
  8. Hammer
  9. Rubber mallet
  10. Shoe last
  11. Iron last

With a these, it's possible to make the half shoes I made.
Thanks for stopping by and checking my blog

Wow. Shoe maker!
That's wonderful skill.
I hope you'll do more and post more.
If I knew how to repair mine, then I would have saved my favorite shoes back in 2005.
Keep up the good work!
See you around for more.
Love lots,
@erelasblog

Hello @crystalleather. Nice shoes you have there, so congrats!

I see you're new on Hive, so let me drop you a few suggestions to help you navigate better on our platform.

We have different communities on Hive and we're encouraging users to post in the right community based on the topic of the post. This post for example would fit better in Hive Diy community.

OCD is for topics that don't fit in any other community and should be used when you don't find a niche community for your post.

Here's a guide I put together to help you learn about how communities work and why you should use them -> Communities Explained - Newbie Guide.

Once you posted your post in the right community, you can then cross post it to OCD community. Here's a guide about cross posting.

Please don't delete any post with the purpose of reposting it in another community as that can be considered abuse! Leave this post here, you'll get it right next time.
