Don't be like me

Hello Hivers!

How are you today? Do you feel motivated to pursue your goals today?

Today, while listening to a podcast I was reminded about the importance of having a goal in life. Someone mentioned in the podcast that I can relate and it goes this way... have you ever been driving but had no idea where you are going? This experience has happened to me. This happened to me because I was bored at home so I decided to go outside to get some air and to change my environment. I was bored because I had been at home most of the day at that moment. When I left the house, I got into the car, I still have no idea where I'm going. All I could think about at that time was to get out of the house and see where my driving took me.

Sounds good? Will it be a happy joy ride with no direction to go? Wrong! It was a failure, lol. I realized that driving without a direction of where to go is crazy. I was so confused while driving because I was a little lost in focus when checking the turns and directions while I was in the driving state. I won't really advise this, especially when driving around the city. I would do it when driving in the countryside but not in the city. In the countryside maybe I will feel calm and serene. But when in the city area it's stressful to drive because it's too congested with other cars.

Then there's another stress thinking about the gas that I'm spending driving around the city without direction. It was a laughable experience because I didn't achieve anything in what I was doing. I ended up driving to a fast-food restaurant and ate an early dinner instead.

Because of this experience, I learned the importance of goals in life. In essence, when a person has no goal in life; what will happen is that his life will also go nowhere. It's like you're walking and getting tired but you're not moving from where you are. You don't achieve anything when you just let your life discover what it is.

Also, you ended up getting stressed because what is happening in your life is an endless loop of burning your fuel without getting anything substantial in return. Isn't it stressful? It's stressful when you think it's your achieving something, your moving to somewhere you don't know, and you end up not really achieving anything. For me, I won't feel happy & contented with this kind of life. It feels like I need a change in my life when I get stuck in an endless loop of not achieving anything.

This experience opened up my mind about what I'm doing wrong and I feel the need to make better choices in life by setting a goal and staying focused on achieving them.

That's all I have for today fellow Hivers! Stay motivated!
