Monday Morning Thoughts

I saw an old man reading a newspaper inside the MRT. It feels surreal that someone still reads newspapers instead of watching videos using their mobile phones. I tried to look as far as I could across the train cars and realized that he was the only one who read a newspaper.

A lone guy who stands out for doing what he used to do. I'm fascinated to see how the times have changed so fast. Everything has changed because of the internet and the invention of smartphones. Many of us including the ones from the older generations have made a shift to follow today's gadget mania.

Everyone on this train is on their smartphones doing their business. Some are checking on their social media feed, some are watching videos, while some are playing games. Every one of us is busy doing our own thing in our own space. Whether reading a book, newspaper, smartphone, or taking a nap; we all do our best to find a thing to do while in a train.

We go about our lives to utilize the time that we have while on this travel.

If you are on a 30-minute or an hour ride in the MRT, then you have to think of ways to entertain yourself or to learn something new. In my case, writing a post about anything that is happening in my day-to-day life while I ride the train. There are times that I try to entertain myself by watching short videos or listening to podcasts to learn new about life, finance, and or technology. These are the ones that I will improve my status in many ways.

It will be my routine in the next 5 years or a decade. By that time, what will be the next big thing that I'll witness inside the train... VR? Hologram? It's exciting but it's scary at the same time.
