Remembering my Mobile Legends days with my favorite heroes

I just watched Rak7's video showing his Mobile Legends gameplay for Miya and it was so cool (like ice)! It made me remember the good days when I used to play this game a lot just to kill the boredom of my previous job. I played this game a lot during my free time while commuting on a bus or MRT, during my lunch break, and occasionally before I sleep. Although it rarely happens, I remember playing this game the whole Saturday night until dawn because it was exciting and I'm already getting good at it.

We all go through phases in life where we tend to focus on a very specific routine, right? While some were binge-watching K-Drama, I was busy playing Mobile Legends. It was just for fun and I didn't take it seriously to the point that I'm betting on it or thinking of leveling it up to the professional level. I know for sure that there are a gamer who manages to make it their career and can earn a lot of money from it but there is a slim chance that I would make it that big. All I wanted was to enjoy playing the game and not want the pressure of winning because my livelihood depended on it. I believe the pleasure of gaming will be gone when it becomes a career, do you agree? I agree with that because I've seen documentaries of gamers who went through tough times, depression, and so much pressure before they got to where they are. Some have faced major challenges in returning to a society where they used to belong after their gaming days were over.

Enough said about the dark side of gaming so I wanted to recall the good days of my leisure gaming with this Mobile Legends. I believe everyone will agree with me when I say that it's the best mobile game that was ever developed in this century. Hence, people are still playing it even though it's already 8 years old. It still manages to capture the interest of online players.

So what made this game so interesting? Personally, it's the team play and the heroes of course. Everyone has their favorite hero that they always wanted to play. In my case, I had 3 favorite heroes depending on my mood.

  • If I wanted to focus on offensive attacks and a plain killer then it has to be Layla.
  • Karina is my best option whenever I want to go hunter mode.
  • And Rafaela was my best choice as a healer type of hero.

Let me expand my thoughts about that.

Layla

source

She is everyone's first hero! Every newbie to the game will first learn how to use this hero. Layla is the hero in the tutorial mode of the game. Naturally, you can tell if a player is a newbie when they use this hero and yet they don't know what they are doing LOL.

If a player knows how to play with this hero, they should not often die because the hero stays behind the team and just does what is meant to do and that's to unleash long-range attacks. Like a sniper. Layla has a very weak HP or life points so she will easily die in the hands of melee heroes.

source

I think Layla's gameplay is the most relaxed among all of the heroes as there's no pressure for her to engage in close combat. She can stay behind the tower and finish every enemy minion easily and can be effective in defending the base as well.

source

By the time they acquired the offensive equipment that she needed then the enemy heroes would easily perish even with her basic attacks. She's difficult to deal with as soon as she accumulates enough gold to purchase the best equipment for her.

With her as my hero, I prefer going to the side lanes instead of the mid lane 😅.

Karina

She's a stone-cold hunter. Often the enemy team and "occasionally" my team would hate my gameplay for this hero.

A reason for that is I use it here as a last-minute offensive attack whenever many of the heroes are on the brink of dying. Some would assume that I'm stealing their kills however, I think that Karina doesn't have the strength and skills to last against melee heroes. Her skills depend on her kills and the HP or hitpoints of her opponents. When the enemy hero's HP is around half then she can easily kill the hero with the combination of her skills, beyond that it will become pointless to attack because she may day in the process.

source

With her skills, she can easily finish a whole enemy team in a team engagement when every enemy here reaches a low HP level. Her skills will keep connecting every time she kills another hero and it will snowball from there.

Rafaela

source

Last but not the least is a hero that heals herself and her teammates. I have to admit, she can be a boring hero but it all depends on how you want to execute her gameplay.

source

She can be annoying to enemy heroes because she slows down enemies, she has a wide range of skill damage, and a wide range stun against enemies, and she also has a wide range of healing skills for her teammates.

Her 2nd skill makes her move so quickly that makes her very difficult to catch. Whenever she gets ahead of item build, she is very annoying because she can harass the lanes by popping in and out of the lanes showcasing support to her teammates while dealing damage to the enemy side.

source

There are times that I become an MVP with this hero because of killing a lot of enemy heroes. She can deal damages against enemy heroes in the early game which she can capitalize in building her items quickly as well.

source

If you know how to execute her gameplay then she is a hero that can be exciting to play.

That's it! I hope you enjoyed my presentation today. Happy gaming!
