Caturday! It's my favorite day of the week... although I do keep some good Hoomans who try their best to make it feel like all days are Caturdays! Cats matter!

Mother's Day Weekend!

Tomorrow will be Mother's Day, here in the US!

The Son-Hooman is visiting from the Seattle for the weekend, and the Mom-Hooman baked a cake. Sounds like a strangely unconnected pair of statements, I know. But she is always happy when the kids come to visit.

Whenever there is some kind of holiday there are always extra treats, and I really like that!

Myself, as a kitten. Hadn't quite grown into my ears!

I didn't really know my Cat-Mom very well as I and my littermates were orphaned when we were just six weeks old. I guess the people at the place where we were born didn't want kittens around, so we ended up being put in a box and dropped off at the animal shelter.

Thankfully I found a really good forever-home with Hoomans who love me very much! It was actually the Daughter-Hooman who spotted me at the shelter... I was the little black kitten with only half a tail, hiding in the background.

Nothing quite as good as a sun-warmed belly!

Even though my littermates were more outgoing and playful, my Hoomans believed in the importance of rescuing a black kitten because we historically are the last in litters to be adopted.

I'm very grateful that my Hoomans were not superstitious about such things! Some Hoomans are just strange, I suppose.

It has been seven years since then, and I have become "the beloved cat," although I sometimes share the spotlight with later arrival Smudge, who's living out her golden years with us.

Meanwhile, the talk of a new kitten — or possibly two kittens — continues, and as testament to the fact that we are taking it seriously, we've decided to start putting all my liquid blogging rewards into HBD savings.

You know, for vet bills and kitten toys, and such!

And there you have it! I'd better get this post out and in circulation before Caturday actually "expires" for another week.
