It's a New Year — Happy New Year, everyone! Must admit that everyone around here was very glass to see the end of 2022!

Putting Away Christmas

The Hoomans are "moving slowly" (their expression, not mine!) to put away all the Christmas decorations for another year... I will miss all the hanging shiny objects I tried to play with, even if the Hoomans found it a bit frustrating!

There seems to be a new "sense of purpose" around here... they are very "busy" with plans and even reorganizing parts of the house.

As long as they leave my blankets and baskets where I can find them, we're good!

2023 Goals For the Curator Cat Blog?

Do cats make New Year's Resolutions? Nope! We just take naps and beg for treats!

That said, 2023 will mark the 5th anniversary of the Curator Cat blog — in March — and since this would seem to have become a long-term gig, I suppose we should have at least some minimal goals and objectives.

I can always change my mind later. It's a cat's prerogative!

In the Mom-Hooman's office...

Is "post more regularly" a goal? Certainly, it's something we aspire to... back in the early days, we put up new cat photos 3-4 times a week, and even participated in some contests.

When this goes live, it will be our 525th post... so let's be modest about the goal for this year and say that we want to get to 700 posts by year end! That would be an average of 2.4 posts per week.

I wonder what 0.4 of a post looks like...?

In the "bigger picture of things" I am still on a quest to become "The Cat Who Became A Dolphin" on Hive... which means getting to about 5,570 Hive Power.

I don't think we can make that in 2023, since I am only at 2,902 HP right now. But if we split the difference, we end up with half that goal needing 1,334 more HP, or a balance at the end of 2023 of 4,236 Hive Power.

I'm pretty sure we can reach that. At least, I'm going to try!

All this planning is EXHAUSTING!

Hoping For Better Times!

It strikes me that predicting the future is pretty much like playing the lottery... as a cat, I prefer to just take things one day at a time.

After all, that's how days come to us!

The crypto markets could go pretty much anywhere, so I do my best to ignore them and just enjoy my Hive cat blog experience!

Caturday Community by @saboin is a community where we get to celebrate posts relating to Saturday — aka "Caturday" — our own special day!

Cat Photos by @andrarchy is a "mixed use" cat content community; posts can be just photos or longer, as long as the subject is CATS! It has a lot of subscribers but is not very active.

Cats by @captainklaus (and Sissi!) is another "general" cat content community; it's there, but not very active.

Last, but certainly not least, a special shoutout to the Hive Pets Community which has become quite active and typically has quite a bit of cat content!

There are a number of other feline communities listed on Hive, but I am not sharing them for now as they have not had any activity (by their Admins OR users) since the Steem/Hive fork. Updates as they become available!
