Don't Say a Word || To reveal with your finger what you can't remember and what you can't say!

It's all in the old days! The reason I think that is because I saw a Michael Douglas classic. Calm down, it wasn't the film Basic Instinct. lol. I watched the film Don't Say a Word, in which Michael Douglas gave a great performance.

Most of the time when I watch newly released films and rarely when I watch past films, my admiration for the old ones increases. When I search my memory to see if there is a bad film by Michael Douglas, I find it hard to remember. Despite this, I wonder why he is not in the top three of my favourite actors. Maybe my mood when choosing my favourites does not match Michael Douglas in the same parallel.

In the film Don't Say a Word, where he plays the character of Nathan, a psychiatrist, he tries to learn the numbers in the memory of a patient as a requirement of his profession. The reason he does this is that his 8-year-old daughter has been kidnapped by those who want the number.

The film, which has a lot of excitement and action, was made in 2001, I don't know how accurate it is to call it old, but since the film is completely inspired by Michael Douglas in the 1990s, I felt as if I had gone back 10 years from the year of production.

I know, I'm going to tell myself again that I should watch old films more often, but when I wake up tomorrow and the first chance I get during the day, I'll go back to new productions. I've said this a few times before, and the 4-5 films I watched immediately afterwards were made in 2022. It will probably be the same again, but I will still continue to express my admiration for old productions.

Most of the films I define as old are either made before I was born or when I was a child. So if I say that I watched them in my youth and they stuck in my mind, I would be lying, because even if I watched most of them as a child, I vaguely remember them.

It is normal for someone who has experienced a dramatic event in his childhood to be unable to remember the numbers related to the event and to be unable to say them because he cannot remember them. It is not expected to find a mysterious clue from the traumatised event, but taking him mentally back to the moment of the event; solving the mystery without remembering or saying it as a result of the reflection of the numbers that could not be remembered or said on the finger movements were the most exciting moments of the film. The numbers written on a dusty glass were the moments that solved the mystery and revealed the big picture. Michael Douglas taking those moments from his patient with tweezers were the moments that made the film great.

The best moments of the film, and the ones in which I saw my own story, were Dr Nathan's (Michael Douglas) fondness for his 8-year-old daughter and the fact that he feels and presents himself as 11 years old even though his daughter is 8 years old. Those who are parents will remember their children trying to present themselves as older until a certain age.

You can watch the film Don't Say a Word from every angle, I think you will like it because the audience the film appeals to is quite wide. It can be considered as a family, action, mystery, crime, drama and puzzle genre. So I can say that wherever I put the film, it fits. I think it would be a great loss not to watch such productions instead of watching them and seeing the passing time as a loss.

If you have time, sit back and watch it with peace of mind! Have a good time!
