Becoming an addict
So, I have adhd and have had it for 10+ years now and it can be a blessing or a caurse depending on whats happening right.
Well, I am medicated. I am on Elvanse 50mg (12 hours, slow release) and I take these every morning as soon as I wake up.
If I take it to late, it will totally fuck up my sleep more than it already does and thats not fun. Thats one of the really bad side effects, but it also means that I have a lot of mental capacity left when I come home after work, which is possitive.
Now. The reason for the title is that, I completely forgot to take my pill today becauae I was too busy farming Diablo 4 before work, I had to complete Act 1 and become level 40 since I have already been in Act 2 and Act 3 xD
I didn't think about and I came to work like nothing, but I kinda "crash" in the middle of my shift and became really really tired randomly and it hit me.
"I forgot my drugs"
Now "luckily" I have gotten some 10mg addition pills and I had them on me and I took them.
30mins or afterwards, I was awake and ready to go and just doing my work proper.
Insane what 10mg can do and I normally take 50mg? Like wtf.
These should last 6 hours or so, so hopefully they are out of my system, so I can sleep xD
But, damn. I am on the pills now and how can I ever get off them when they make me feel like this? Thats crazy.

Coffee crashes too, but what happens if you drink coffee after the 10mg diminishes?
I drink 1 cup of coffe a day, thats it.
Wouldn't know. I don't drink caffeine after 10am, that will impact my sleep aswell xD And the 10mg haven't gone away yet and I took them 5 hours ago ish :D

Sounds pretty scary to be reliant on the "drugs" for functioning on a daily basis.
Then again this sound like what I am going through but the "drugs" in my case would be

I have tried Ritalin before which made me lose 10kg becasue I didn't feel hunger xD
Elvanse is one of the most stable ones and one of the best ones when it comes to getting the doses right. But you as a person with adhd, would have to have tried other drugs before Elvanse is avaliable for you for some reason xD
Elvanse is also more expensive, so thats might be the reason right.
I can function on a daily basis without the drugs and I have done that the most of my life, but the difference is huge!
After a hard work day with a lot of decisions made, I am destoryed. I am so tired, where now with this drugs, I am okay. I actucally have the mental capacity to do something after work, chilling with friends or making a good dinnner and so far and so on. It feels way easier to do this on these drugs compared to not being on them. A common thing is adhd people gets overwhelmed fair quickly because we take in all inputs and we can't stop our thoughts xD
Coffee is not bad, too much coffee is not great :P

I should just quit Coffee, I had that for 6 months before, but I really enjoy the smell and taste of coffee xD Even if it impacts my sleep xD

But glad you found what is a good balance for you whether with the drug or not.
More importantly is to feel good overall and still be able to enjoy life to the fullest! 🤘
Yeah same here I'm addicted to the smell and taste of coffee actually, not so much on the reliance of it to keep me awake and energize me for the day. I could still immediately go to bed without an issue right after a cup of coffee 😅

yeah I think working those late night in my job got me accustom to drinking coffee late at night 😕
Working late hours when its crunch time right? Ye that will make you depend on Coffee if you are used to it.
You could also just drink water and eat fruit (Apples) :p

Dude, it's a pretty strong thing to depend on a medication to be able to function properly and I totally understand that.
In my case, I am addicted or "dependent" on some drops for the nose, it happens to me if I don't use those drops my nose gets completely clogged and I can't breathe through my nose and I start to feel suffocated, although if it happens I can still breathe through the mouth also feels horrible.
The effect of the drops in my nose lasts between 4 to 6 hours, so I always have to take the drops with me everywhere and the times I have forgotten it makes me anxious not to have them around.
Ye its pretty fucked haha.
Ohh, thats sucks! Can't it be fixed without the Drops? Like something longterm?
