Charity vs Financially Freedom

Should I aim to become a Charity person or get Financially Freedom?
Which one is more impontant for the world or can I be both?

As far as I can remember back, One friend of mine and I have always talked about money in some regard. It started quite early. I think when I were 15, we talked about being Millionaires by the age of 18 and when we didn't achieve that, we just pushed the timeline down the road. We never gave up on that dream and I don't think any of us have given up yet (I don't talk to him as much anymore).

Fast forward. I am 30 and he is 29 and none of us is even close to be a millionaire. I am slowly on the right path, but I am like 1/100th of the way there xD

The thing is my world view is shifting slowly to build a more sustainable future for everybody compared to just have more and more money for myself. I do "blame" hive for this to some extend, with the amount of people from everywhere, you get a whole new prespective of things.
Also with the focus on the war right now which is still raging in Ukraine. A shit ton of things because useless when compared to that, I would love to be able to help rebuild Ukraine for a more sustainable future after Putin's War is done.

Building my NGO is going to take a lot of hours and effort but its worth it if I don't want to be stuck in the same dead-end job forever.

Should I aim to become a Charity person or get Financially Freedom?

Operating my own NGO wouls ofcause be on my own terms and I since it would always by my baby, it would properly not feel like work most of the time.
So I would 100% give the NGO / Charity person a shot first and not to say I can't build wealth on the side.

Which one is more impontant for the world or can I be both?

The Charity/NGO would obviously be more impontant for the world if it can make an impact. But I do think I wouls be able to do both at the same time slowly.
Since I would still need a salary while working fulltime at the NGO and that could be reinvested into sustainable companies.

Got any Questions?

it would be awesome if you could start a dao or fund, that then gets perpetual growth from defi and sharing info on hive. That way you could achieve both maybe.

btw what kind of job are you in currently?

As long as the government doesn't know how to tax people in Crypto properly and insist on just taxing them 57% no matter what, I don't think crypto is a good place to start unfornunally x) But down the line sure :p

I am currently just working for Volkswagen i Copenhagen ^^

oh 57% is rough. here it is 0.59% as long ad it is considered capital for euro 50k to 100k, above 100k capital assets it is 1.49%

if it is considered work, because you’re daytrading for instance, then normal work tax applies and that starts at 38%

Wait what. 0.59% where do you live? XD

Dividends from stocks or just profit of a stock is only 24% tax but only up to 50k dkk (I think, ish).

I’m in the Netherlands. I see it is more complicated than I thought. so it looks like 5.5% is currently the highest it can get.

unless it is seen as dividends , which has its own tax

Every tax system is confusing for outsiders :p

I could mayve get a bank account in the Netherlands, since i am from denmark, so that might not be a problem :D

I think that is possible, but you would likely have to pay taxes where you earn and spend your money. So you would have to relocate as well

Compared to that, the current cryptocurrency tax in my country (in Hungary) is very high (15%), but you do not have to pay tax, if your cryptocurrency income in the given year is not more than the local minimum wage.

for me as soon as the total value exceeds 100k euro, I have to start paying regardless if I made a profit or not. And they will even assume a certain percentage increase and tax me for that.

but currently I’m far away from 100k euro, so it is not a problem 😜

Ukraine is a total mess. if you do not fully understand the reality of something then trying to fix it is doomed to fail. it would most likely be better to concentrate on making your money while learning everything you can about what needs to be done in a bad situation. then you will have a good idea how to go about your charitable work and be more sure that the effort you put in leads to the result you are trying to accomplish

No thanks. I am quite clear about what the NGO will do and can do.
