Sleep well, the body needs it

Our body system is created in such a way that sleep is meant to replenish its energy. That's why it bothers me when I hear people boasting about the low level of sleep they give themselves because this is something I always try to fight against. Although it's good that their body is adapting to the lifestyle, it's never a good thing for the body.

As for me, I know the importance of sleep to the body, I know the length of hours I should give myself for sleep, and I'm trying my best to do that. But it's just not working sometimes because the day seems to not reach 24 hours; maybe it stops at 17 hours and the remaining 7 hours disappear into thin air.
Many days, my schedule is so occupied with many things that I find it hard to take the necessary naps. In fact, I don't see the time at all, which pushes my resting hours to the night.

This same night that's supposed to be a good resting moment, where I'm supposed to give myself a good long hours of sleep, is usually being chopped off with many concluding tasks for the day. I know it's good to put health first by suspending whatever is eating into my sleep time, but the zeal to keep hustling keeps popping up because man must eat and survive, and if man gives his life into endless sleeping, then hunger becomes the order of the day.

So, I make sure I sleep on or before 12:00 a.m. and it lasts until about 5:00 a.m., which is 5 hours of sleep. One would say 5 hours of sleep is okay for the body, but no, not at all. It's not okay. It can only be adequate if such a person takes naps during the day.

During my school days, I used to suffer a lot from drowsiness, which interrupted my studies so much. You know, in class, we would sit down and listen to the lecturer, and I would sit and before I knew it, I was off to dreamland.
My colleagues used to tap me to wake up to listen to lectures and also to avoid being embarrassed by the lecturer if he found out that I was sleeping. Those times, sleep always looked for the slightest opportunity to slide in, and it always won because I usually fell asleep, all because I hadn't been sleeping well. It happened so badly to the extent that I concluded that I had insomnia.

I haven't been giving myself enough sleep, and if I had my way, I would make afternoon naps a compulsory thing because my body needs it. It would help me to stabilize my body since the nights are not always free for sleep for me.
These days I've been able to cope with it because I do work that doesn't permit sitting in one spot; I move around a lot during the day, which makes me not feel drowsy except on occasions when I need to sit for a while.
