Our Adventure Took Us Into the Woods of The Nursery Forest Park and Across the Mag-Alambac Bridge

Another day, another adventure story for you, my fellow Hivers.

Last night my best friend chatted me that she wants to have a walk and breathe fresh air because she was a little upset this weekend from her students. She wanted to express herself with nature. So I also agreed with her and had a walk early this morning cause they don't conduct classes today for some school activities. Out of the planned, as we headed to the market, we agreed to have a walk just around the corner, passing by the church, but something came up in our minds right before entering the church road. She said, 'What if we go down to Mag-alambac Bridge and to the nursery? There we can find peace upon seeing those natural trees.' Out of nowhere I also nodded without having an argument. Hehe. That's how thoughtful I am. LOL. So we decided to walk at the national road heading to the town, where we can see the Mag-alambac Bridge and the Kawasan River. I think it's almost 1 kilometer from the market to the bridge.

As we passed by, we couldn't resist having a photo with this part of the roadside hill that was formed as a staircase. Then, continued walking down to the bridge.

And there you go, the MAG-ALAMBAC BRIDGE. This was named Mag-alambac Bridge because this is located in one of the sitios of Mantalongon, Dalaguete, Cebu, which is the Sitio Mag-alambac. I don't know what the story is behind this or why it's called Mag-alambac. Maybe it's because the water here is "Ga-ambak"? in the Cebuano language version, hehe. Funny. As we walked on that bridge, I could feel the little shaking when big vehicles passed by here. It's something scary; in my mind, what if this bridge were to collapse? This bridge is very important; it connects to the town and to the barangays in upland areas. This is very important infrastructure for the access of people from cities and towns going up to the highlands or to the Badian. This national road is also known as the Mantalongon-Dalaguete-Badian Road. This infrastructure is very essential for travelers and passers-by in daily living going downtown.

And there's the hidden nature right besides the Mag-alambac bridge, which is the Nursery Forest Park, where trees grow naturally that contribute to the cold season of the place. As you enter this bridge, you can feel the cold air that soothes your skin just like in Baguio or Benguet. That is why it's gotten its name as the Little Baguio of Southern Cebu. During Typhoon Odette, part of these trees was roughly destroyed, but after a year, it had restored its beauty. Though some trees have been cut down due to the road widening recently, this was preserved to maintain its natural giving of fresh and cold air. I would gladly recommend this as a place to stop when you wish to visit here.
