The Power of the Coralforged in Splinterlands

avatar

In this post I'll talk about the Coralforged in Splinterlands, a great ally to have in the first position on the battlefield.

Before continuing to talk about Splinterlands, I'll talk a little about Arcade Colony.

Arcade Colony

Arcade Colony is a web-based platform where mainstream games can deploy Web3 features. Newly created games, as well as previously released games, can now add tokens, digital collectibles, trading, renting, earning, and governance to their games. Thus, Arcade Colony hosts a series of published games similar to the Epic Games Store, Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Steam, but unlike Web2 publishers, Arcade Colony augments new and existing games with Web3 features.

For more information about the platform, read the Whitepapper.

I'm playing 3 games on Arcade Colony and they are:

There's also the game Genesis League Goals on Arcade Colony but I haven't played that game yet.

Let's continue talking about Coralforged in Splinterlands.

Coralforged is a card from the new Reward Set and that means there are only 3 ways to get this card in the game and they are:

  • Buying Common Draws in the Glint Shop.

  • Buying Loot Chests in the Glint Shop.

  • Buying cards from other players on the market.

My goal is to get the cards from the new Reward Set in the Glint Shop, but if I don't get enough to level all the cards to the maximum level then I'll buy the cards on the market.

Why is the Coralforged card a good option?

In Splinterlands, there are several powerful cards you can use in the first position that will be great choices, but what catches my attention about Coralforged is its combination of abilities.

Flank, Fury, Dodge, and Shield are Coralforged's abilities.

Flank

At the beginning of the battle, if this unit is in the first position, the unit in the second position gains Reach.

Fury

Deals double damage if the target has Taunt.

Dodge

+25% chance to evade physical attacks.

Shield

50% less damage (rounded up) from physical attacks or 0 damage from physical attacks of 1 power.

This combination of abilities is very useful in my opinion because I can choose another powerful melee monster for the second position since it will receive the Reach ability. Dodge and Shield abilities are very useful against melee and ranged monsters, and the Fury ability is also a great way to deal more damage during battle depending on the opponent's strategy.

I need 400 cards to level up Coralforged to the maximum level, and if I manage to open 400 Common Draws and Loot Chests in every season, then I can reach the maximum level of Coralforged in 4 or 5 months.

My initial focus in the new Reward Set is on Common and Rare cards, then I'll upgrade the Epic and Legendary ones.
