1.- Tell us an anecdote with coffee

I love going out for coffee with my friends. Going to a nice place with a pleasant, quiet atmosphere, where they serve a good coffee with cookies and we get ready to talk at length about the latest events in our lives.

On one occasion one of my friends had her birthday and was out of town, when she returned I invited her to have a coffee in a cozy place located in one of the coolest areas of the city. They were gold work that I made and as my friend is a little picky, I took her a variety to choose from. 2.- What sad moments have you experienced with a cup of coffee?

Drinking coffee is comforting, not only because of the drink itself, but also because with a cup of coffee is the sharing and in sad moments such as the departure of a family member or friend to another plane is always present.

A few days ago a brother-in-law died, he was alone at home and had a heart attack. In the midst of the surprise, the chaos of police, firemen and family members, we could not find a way to calm down and organize the steps we had to follow. I went to the kitchen of the house, searched the cabinets and found the coffee pot and the coffee. I prepared coffee, served it on the table, gathered my niece, my sisters and called one of the policemen to clarify the procedures.

3.- Has coffee helped you with your love relationships?

As couples we fill ourselves with rituals that create spaces to share, talk and sometimes contribute to smooth out differences, among these rituals we have the afternoon coffee.

Every afternoon, after the siesta, approximately at 3:30, we sit on the porch of the house to have a delicious coffee with a cookie or sweet bread. It is a moment that, generally, we talk about what we are writing or reading, sometimes we simply observe what surrounds us, a little bird that approached, a squirrel that is prowling or the beautiful sky at that moment, it is like an implicit pact to provide us with a space where we talk about pleasant things and in it we finish recharging our energies to resume the workday.

We have turned it into a special moment, we laugh, we joke and in many ways we reaffirm that we are with each other, it is a time where the manifestation of love is found in that beautiful feeling that we are here and we are well.

4.- What Person Comes to Your Thoughts Over a Cup of Coffee?

There are many people that can come to my mind with a cup of coffee and most of them are associated with good moments, pleasant conversations, sharing with family and friends.

For example, every morning, my walk closes by sharing a coffee at one of my sisters' house or, many Sundays, we visit some nephews who live nearby, we spend some time with them, coffee is always present, we value this relationship very much because it is what most resembles an exchange of parents, children and grandchildren, that life, in these moments, offers us.

1.- Cuéntanos una anécdota con el café

Me encanta salir a tomarme un café con las amigas. Ir a un sitio bonito de ambiente agradable, tranquilo que sirvan un buen café acompañado de galleticas y disponernos a conversar largo y tendido sobre los últimos aconteceres de nuestras vidas.

En una oportunidad una de mis amigas cumplió años y se encontraba fuera de la ciudad, cuando regresó la invité a tomarnos un café en un lugar acogedor ubicado en una de las zonas más frescas de la ciudad. La Avenida “las Delicias”. Estando en el lugar y después de conversar largamente saco de mi bolso cuatro collares para que escogiera uno como regalo de cumpleaños.

Eran trabajos de orfebrería que yo realizaba y como mi amiga es un poco quisquillosa, le llevé variedad para que escogiera. Luego que ella seleccionó, recojo los tres restantes para guardarlos, en ese momento se nos acerca un hombre y me dice que su acompañante está encantada con los collares que si se los puedo mostrar.

Sorprendida, porque ni cuenta me había dado que la pareja nos observaba, se los mostré y ella toda “mañosa” no lograba decidirse, por lo que, el caballero, muy amablemente le compró los tres collares. Yo estaba encantada y de allí me salió una excelente clienta.

2.- ¿Qué Momentos Tristes has vivido junto a una taza de café?

Tomar café resulta reconfortante, no solo por la bebida en sí, sino porque junto a una taza de café se encuentra el compartir y en los momentos tristes como es la partida a otro plano de un familiar o amigo siempre está presente.

Hace pocos días murió un cuñado, se encontraba solo en su casa y le dio un infarto. En medio de la sorpresa, el caos de policías, bomberos y familiares no encontrábamos la manera de calmarnos y organizar los pasos que teníamos que seguir. Me fui a la cocina de la casa, registrando gabinetes encontré la cafetera y el café. Preparé café, lo serví en la mesa, reuní a mi sobrina, mis hermanas y llamé a uno de los policías para que nos aclarara los procedimientos.

Fue un momento demasiado triste pero necesario, requeríamos que mi sobrina se calmara un momento y nos dijese que quería hacer para nosotras poder comenzar a gestionar. Esta pausa en el dolor no es nada fácil pero, alrededor de una taza de café es menos desconsoladora.

3.- ¿El Café te ha Ayudado con tus Relaciones Amorosas?

Las parejas nos vamos llenando de rituales que crean espacios para el compartir, conversar y a veces contribuyen a limar asperezas, entre estos rituales nosotros tenemos el cafecito de la tarde.

Cada tarde, después de la siesta, aproximadamente a las 3 y media, nos sentamos en el porche de la casa a tomarnos un rico café acompañado de galleta o pan dulce. Es un momento que, generalmente, hablamos de lo que estamos escribiendo o leyendo, a veces sencillamente observamos lo que nos rodea, algún pajarito que se acercó, una ardillas que esta merodeando o el bello cielo que hay en ese momento, es como un pacto implícito de procurarnos un espacio donde se habla son cosas agradables y en él terminamos de recargar las energías para retomar la jornada de trabajo.

Lo hemos convertido en un momento especial, nos reímos, nos echamos broma y de muchas maneras reafirmamos que estamos el uno con el otro, es un rato donde la manifestación del amor se encuentra en ese sentimiento hermoso de estamos aquí y estamos bien.

4.- ¿Qué Persona Viene a tu Pensamiento Junto a una Taza de Café?

Son muchas las personas que pueden llegar a mi mente junto a una taza de café y la mayoría están asociadas a buenos momentos, a conversaciones agradables, a compartir con la familia y los amigos.

Por ejemplo, cada mañana, mi caminata se cierra compartiendo un café en casa de una de mis hermanas o, muchos domingos, visitamos a unos sobrinos que viven cerca, pasamos un rato con ellos, el café siempre está presente, valoramos mucho esta relación porque es lo que más se asemeja a un intercambio de padres, hijos y nieto, que la vida, en estos momentos, nos ofrece.
