Hola amigos de hive, en esta oportunidad les vengo a mostrar algunas imágenes de mi tierra, en el oriente de Venezuela se encuentra el Parque Nacional Turuépano, entre los municipios Benítez, Cajigal, Libertador y Mariño del Estado Sucre, que tiene una belleza muy singular, su paisaje está compuesto de explanadas deltaicas y planicies cenagosas con influencia del mar, únicas en el país, hay muchos manglares, que a su vez forman caños y canales que son navegables por lanchas pequeñas, en su mayoría son talladas en los troncos de los árboles, y son llamadas curiaras.

Les cuento que los paisajes de esta zona son bellísimos, tienen un encanto muy particular ya que cada doce horas sube y baja la marea de manera fluctuante, de tal manera que los caños solo se navegan cuando la marea esta alta, porque estos se secan de tal manera que queda expuesto el fondo. Las aguas son salobres, debido a que hay muchos afluentes de agua dulce que se encuentran con el agua del mar. Esto es una experiencia excepcional porque el paisaje cambia con este fenómeno de la naturaleza.

El muelle principal de Guariquén, que es uno de los centros poblados, es muy largo porque cuando baja la marea, las curiaras no llegan hasta el pueblo y ya que la laguna madre no se seca por completo, las embarcaciones navegan hasta donde llegue el agua, y mediante éste pueden desembarcar hasta donde dé el agua. Todas las actividades se calculan tomando en cuenta la subida y bajada de la marea, desde los paseos entre los caños y la pesca. En la laguna principal hay balsas para cosechar ostras… unas ostras gigantescas, y muy sabrosas. Cuando baja o sube la marea se escuchan las ostras abriendo o cerrando, es una experiencia grandiosa.

Mi familia materna es oriunda de esta zona y hemos disfrutado de muchas aventuras en este parque, allí se puede pescar, pasear, bañarse en la marea, buscar caracoles en el fondo cuando la marea se seca, o simplemente jugar a guerra con el lodo… mis tíos abuelos tienen sembradíos, a los que llamamos conucos y allí se cultivan diferentes verduras, ocumo chino, mapuey, yuca, entre otras cosas, mis primos van en burro hasta los conucos para sacar la cosecha y traerla hasta la casa, donde una parte se come y el excedente se vende. Los animales que hay allí son muchísimos hay venados, dantas, jaguares, babas (caimanes), culebras, arañas monas, pájaros de mil colores y jején por demás.

My cousins go by donkey to the conucos to take the harvest and bring it to the house, where part of it is eaten and the surplus is sold. The animals there are many, there are deer, tapirs, jaguars, babas (caimans), snakes, monkey spiders, birds of a thousand colors and many more.

Cuando paseas por el parque puedes hacerlo a pie o en curiara, a mi particularmente me gusta más por el agua. En este Parque habitan y hacen paso muchas aves; es un solaz oír sus trinos y observarlas levantar vuelo, al recorrer los caños por la tarde se puede ver la llegada de miles de corocoras (Ibis Escarlatas), cuyo color hace de esta experiencia algo fantástico. Entre sus aguas dulces y salobre existe gran variedad de peces y moluscos, entre ellos el lebranche y el bagre rabo amarillo.

Otra de atractivos de la zona son los ríos, que son cristalinos y donde uno se puede sumergir en la frescura de sus aguas, la casa de uno de mis primos que justo al lado del río morocoto y tenerlo tan a la mano cuando vamos de visita es una delicia, ademas de dormir con el sonido del agua corriendo es una bella experiencia.
