Visit to the Europe Park in Madrid āØšļøš

Hello dear readers of Hive and PeakD, I hope you had a very productive week full of good vibes and blessings. For my part I've been a little ok, not to say bad haha, I think it's mercury retrograde but my spirits have been on the floor. Anyway, in this post I want to introduce you to a super nice park that has within it the most famous and visited monuments associated with different European countries.
I had to take my mother to visit it and we planned a day since it's located in Torrejón de Ardoz, an area a little far from the center of Madrid but not impossible to reach. As you can see at the entrance it identifies with the name Parque Europa which was formerly called Parque del Arroyo Ardoz.
At the entrance there is a figure of three women embracing, is the first monument that can be seen and are three mythological goddesses, daughters of Zeus, known to embody beauty, joy and generosity. This monument by Pablo Rubens is originally in the Prado Museum in Madrid.

- The Three Graces, Rubens
Here you can see how my mother, my mother-in-law and her friend simulate the three Graces, it made them a lot of fun and they wanted a picture, so it was not an easy job as I had to climb on my boyfriend's shoulders to get the angle perfect haha.

Before starting the tour you come across the Puerta de Alcala, it's a monument that is located in Madrid, one of its many doors, but this one in particular is very famous as it was the first triumphal arch built after the fall of the Roman Empire. It's even much older than the Brandenburg Gate which you will see a little later in this post.
The park is very green and has signs that tell you where to go and which is the next monument, going a little further we saw this one that I loved because I love science and it was a giant atom, if you read the information says that it is expanded 165 billion times, and although this is only a replica it seemed huge, since the original is 102 meters high.

Walking a little further we can see a square with the world map or something similar, it's very entertaining because you get distracted looking and checking where the countries are located and around this are several flags of the world decorating the square circularly.

Now, let's talk about this, I found it very curious that a monument of a little boy peeing is famous haha. It is a statue of 55.5 meters, the original is made of bronze, so you can see that it's a dark color. It symbolizes the naturalness, rebelliousness and humor which gives an air of freedom or independent spirit and that is what its author wanted to convey. Believe it or not, this is a national symbol in Brussels.

This made my mother very excited and although it is only one tenth of the original in size, she was able to feel a little closer to her dream country, France.

Maybe it's not necessary to give many details about this since the Eiffel Tower is one of the most visited and known monuments in the world.

This was the one I mentioned before, I found it very beautiful and significant, although many will say "it's just a gate or arch ", because it symbolizes the triumph of peace over weapons. Before the Berlin Wall, this was used as a kind of customs and control at the entrance of the city. At the top you can see the statue of the Goddess Victory with a chariot of horses.

Something very curious about this is that it is now called "The Worlds end " and this is because the inhabitants of that time associated it as the limit of their world or what they knew, if they went out and wanted to return they had to pay a kind of fee or tax that many of them could not afford.
The Fountain of wishes and love, it doesn't need many words, I made a previous post of my trip to Rome and I had the opportunity to see the original one, no words really. You can stop by and read this very interesting information: The Spectacular Fontana di Trevi šāØ
What I loved about the photography and that day is that although the sky was a little cloudy, the photos looked spectacular and without editing.

This well known sculpture, made me do more research on the internet since the informative picture was a bit deteriorated and what I did like was that for being just a nude statue it is very recognized and iconic in the history of art and Renaissance sculpture. This reference has anatomical details, represents King David moments before facing Goliath and the Original is in the Galleria dell'Accademia in Florence, Italy.

Now, Viking ships? and why are they in Europa Park? Why are they important? Well, they were famous and important for their trade, export and looting that they did in Europe, although its size is not even a tenth part, it gives us an idea and recreates a little of the history and importance of the Vikings. What you see is part of the front structure of the Drakkars which is how they used to call these vessels.

The Viking ship lake also serves as wildlife for the ducklings that make life and give you a more pleasant place in the park tour.

- Monument of the Northernmost of Sweden
This was one of the things that caught my attention, is a Swedish monument and you can see several of the countries written and next numbers representing the kilometers to which they are exactly Torrejón de Ardoz Madrid which even has the geographic coordinates. They also have arrows that are to where such countries are located.

- London Brige.

This was a beauty, it was located on an artificial lake that represented the Thames River surrounded by many flowers that made it look even more beautiful and the bridge was facing the other side of the park if you wanted to shorten the way. It is an icon of the City of London for its neo-Gothic Victorian style, also being a drawbridge can be raised its central parts allowing the passage of boats. It's a tourist attraction and famous for its appearance in movies and postcards.

This theater simulates the Greek theaters, where different representations such as religious ceremonies, comedies, satires and among others in the Greek calendar, is located on a hill like the originals. It's a replica with a good scale and also in summer they usually make different recreational activities for visitors and tourists who attend the park.

The Van Gogh Bridge or Langlois Bridge was painted by Van Gogh when he lived in the south of France, in honor of his native Netherlands. It was fully restored after being destroyed in World War II and what made it even more famous were the watercolors and drawings that Van Gogh had which led him to name a series of such as "Langlois Bridge in Arles ".

I thought this was a beautiful thing, they are in the park because for Holland the windmills are declared a World Heritage Site. They allowed them to pump water and there were both watermills and windmills which facilitated many important agricultural activities.

- Dutch Mills / Molinos Holandeses.

The Berlin Wall was in charge of dividing it for 28 years, representing the confrontation between capitalism and communism. Its fall was so important because it symbolized the end of the cold war.

Nondescript, we not only walk to look at monuments, we also enjoy looking at natural works such as these trees pruned in the shape of a line of elephants.

Originally located in Lisbon, it symbolizes the Age of Discoveries in Europe, served as a fortress and as a port for the Portuguese working in the trade exported to China and India. It was also used as a prison, as a lighthouse and as a tax collection center for the City of Lisbon. Currently this replica in the Europa Park is surrounded by a small lake, where there are some boats which can be paid to enjoy a beautiful day with family or friends.
- Cascada / waterfall.
Yes, just like a waterfall, no more, no less. Although it had no name or meaning, it was the place where we took the most pictures and enjoyed it the most, since it had a bridge where you had the best view of the park and if you went inside it, you could watch the water falling from the front.

With these pictures of the beautiful waterfall I finish my post and although I missed 1 or 2 monuments to see, it is quite a long tour, you can spend all day looking and learning a little bit of everything, it is a perfect plan to spend with family or friends. I just hope you liked it and I encourage you to go. thanks for reading. Virtual hugs.
Abrazos virtuales.
