Apparently, Nobody Gave Me the Adult Handbook - Ladies of Hive Community Contest #307

There are a lot of things that everyone is supposed to know. The managing of money, fixing the house, cooking properly, understanding taxes and how to make serious financial decisions. Then immediately you become an adult and reality is right in front of you.
You come to understand that the uncles and the sisters, the aunts that you are much more concerned about, that they used to give you something, you have gradually become the likes of them and now you now understand the money, earning, savings very well and you understand that spending everything that you have is not the best financial strategy but somehow money has a strange ability to disappear. You receive money. There are 10 things waiting for it.
The likes of internet, electricity, software, transportation, food. Immediately a client pays you. There are a lot of bills that you need to use that to cover.
Then when you are finished spending, you look back at the entire money, you find out that you don't have anything left. Adulthood is going to humble you at this point in time. When all of us were very young, we used to think that by the time we have money, we'll buy private jets, we'll do this and do that.
A lot of great ambition that was running through our mind then. But life has a way of showing up to us all. When you are younger, you imagine that once you start making money, everything will become easier.
You think the problem is simply not having enough money. Then you start earning more and more. Then you discover that your bills for the month is increasing even more.
I have had moments where I made a crazy financial decision because it's feeling good. But when I look back now, it's not what I thought. Catastrophe used to kick in and that is what makes life fun.
Then I understand that, okay, this money could have been used to do another thing entirely. That is why when you start learning the difference between adulthood, when it comes to I can afford this and I should buy this, there are two different things there and those are not the same statements. If it's not necessary, there's no need to put your money into it.
If it's not urgent or it's not important, put the money somewhere else into another thing that can yield you much more money. If someone explains something technical, financial or practical, I didn't understand it, I feel like I should already have known it. If I don't understand a contract, what I do is ask the person.
I don't understand how some things work, immediately I researched it. If someone knows more than me, what I do is listen. There is nothing good in doing the wrong thing confidently.
It is a very bad idea. There is no prize given to who scored zero in the class by doing it confidently. And that mindset has helped me when it comes to acquiring more knowledge.
AI changes so quickly that sometimes I feel like a beginner again. A tool I learned last month now has another version that I can't even catch up with. What I've already understood yesterday has changed.
Maybe it's about becoming comfortable with the saying that I don't know, let me figure it out. So when something comes up and I don't understand, I don't even panic again. What I do is question, search, then learn from people who have gone ahead of me because that's the only way I can be better at what I do.

The earlier you embrace learning personal Finances the better. It can be boring as can be but everyone should learn the basics. This should have been mandatory in public school but it's not. As the economy leaves destroyed lives in it's wake we can't afford and depend on guesswork, luck or anyone to rescue us.
I actually did an accounting for my family's living expenses on a spreadsheet so I know exactly where I spent. That's where I started, then kept learning and getting budgeting tips. I hope I find some A.I. hack to make this quicker and easier. !LOL
