They say 'life is full of ups and downs', that was the story of Ife when she stole from the food vendor six months ago.
According to the report gotten from a passerby, she lamented painfully on the way young men abuse thieves caught on scene.
She was so depressed about the condition that she was forced into after being caught.
According to her, she was like 'she doesn't deserve this, she's not as bad or wicked like her accusers, she was just hungry and needed something to eats which everyone knows that she doesn't have money to afford any of those things that she has stolen'.
I looked at her and smiled within me, avoiding doing the laughing before her due to the fact that she has subscribed to Ife's sympathy.
I kept wondering on that which would make something to take what doesn't belong to you when you can not afford it.
As I finished my interview with the first passerby, I stopped another one who's a male from the community.
As I was about to initiate the questioning aspect, he went straight to conclusion, saying that she deserves it.
Hmmm
Young man, calm down. She's just a school girl. As I was about to finish the "just a school girl' sentence, he halted me, saying that other girls in the community are still schooling and have nothing to do with stealing.
I then kept quiet but thanked him at last.
When I got to the scene, I discovered that the beaten girl was having a seizure, causing her close bit by bit.
I called the attention of the youth leader in charge, telling him about the latest development.
He got shocked on noticing it, called for another help, a man to donate his bike.
One of Ife's uncle's friend did so asap and took her to the nearest hospital.
Luckily for Ife, she woke up on the third day after accumulating over NGN100,000 bill enough to feed her for two straight months.
Who's fooling who?
Where were all these money when she was starving?
Were they kept as her health insurance bill?
Only God can judge us.
