My Brief Experience in the Journey of Writing on Hive || Week 15, Edition 02

Hello and welcome to my page. I'm @daniky and here is my entry to the weekly featured content for week 15 edition 2 This post is in response to the question which states;

"As bloggers, we are all writers. It is now something we do more often than a lot of other people. So what can you say that writing is to you? How important is it to you as a person? Please let us know."

For me I'll say that writing is gradually becoming an integral part of my life. One of the things I hated most was writing as I wasn't never passionate about it as at earlier due to the fact that it seems like a waste of my precious time and energy, and to crown it further, it was quite boring to me. I rather play football, video games and engage in diverse outdoor recreational activities than write because there was a wrong mentality I had that "most writers are broke". Though I found writing as a form of literacy but I wasn't satisfied being a writer.

As days, months and years passed by, while I was at age 14, I later gave time for studying novels and that was what caught my attention the most. Before then, I only study my books and I was more playful when it comes to recreational activities. So I only read my class notes and prepare for test when due. My interest and passion grew further the moment I attended a conference where I was able to see a popular prolific writer, a professor of English at the Oxford University, Cambridge and also a popular literature Novel Laurette, Professor Wole Soyinka when he was giving his story during his speech. He gave his story as he was able to raise lots writers today who are multimillionaires (that aspect sounded so appeasing to me). There my mentality changed totally and I started seeing writing as not just something creative, but lucrative as well.

I'm not an orator and neither am I a writer by profession but the knowledge I've gathered so far on this blockchain has made me a better writer. At the point of onboarding what usually be the case was on how to keep publishing contents on a daily basis and this gave me lots of worries for months to ponder before I later resorted to keep posting ones or twice a week. With time I made it a duty to publish contents once or twice daily which I was able to sustain a while ago and this has been helpful alot.

So, hive blog is a place to train yourself and grow from the level you are to where you aspire to be. One further aspect of this blockchain is the fact that it rewards you the more you use it to publish quality content or engage meaningfully with other authors. There's a saying that no knowledge is a waste so it's better to use the writing skills you have now to get what you want. So wake up to the task.
