¡Hola amigos! Espero que hayan tenido un lindo día. Les cuento que el domingo visité un hermoso lugar. No había tenido tiempo de escribir, pero ahora les tengo un poco sobre mi paseo por un encantador museo llamado Mulalo. Mulalo está ubicado en el municipio de Yumbo, Valle del Cauca. El pueblo que también se llama Mulalo fue construido sobre una antigua hacienda de la época colonial y actualmente alberga a más de 1800 habitantes. Su principal fuente de ingresos es el turismo, ya que es muy visitado, del cual hablaré en otro post.
¡Hello friends! I hope you had a nice day. I tell you that on Sunday I visited a beautiful place. I hadn't had time to write, but now I have a little bit about my walk through a lovely museum called Mulalo. Mulalo is located in the municipality of Yumbo, Valle del Cauca. The town which is also called Mulalo was built on an old colonial era hacienda and is currently home to more than 1800 inhabitants. Its main source of income is tourism, as it is very visited, which I will talk about in another post..
Este museo se encuentra en el centro de un pequeño pueblo bastante concurrido por turistas, lleno de vegetación y lugares encantadores que invitan a querer quedarse por mucho tiempo. Sin duda, es una experiencia increíble poder conocerlo. Conocí este lugar a través de un amigo que había leído acerca de él en Internet. Me pareció curioso y hermoso, así que acordamos visitarlo. Nuestra fecha programada fue el domingo, saliendo desde Cali, Colombia. Nos tomó aproximadamente 1 hora y 20 minutos en moto llegar directamente al Museo de Mulalo, ya que teníamos muchas ganas de conocerlo.
This museum is located in the center of a small town quite crowded by tourists, full of greenery and charming places that invite you to want to stay for a long time. Undoubtedly, it is an incredible experience to visit it. I got to know this place through a friend who had read about it on the Internet. I found it curious and beautiful, so we agreed to visit it. Our scheduled date was Sunday, leaving from Cali, Colombia. It took us about 1 hour and 20 minutes by motorcycle to get directly to the Mulalo Museum, as we really wanted to see it.
El museo nació como una propuesta para conmemorar el natalicio del Libertador Simón Bolívar, pero no fue hasta el año 1990 que se logró su inauguración con el nombre de Museo Histórico Simón Bolívar de Mulalo. Inicialmente, el museo solo exhibía esculturas del prócer y su paso por la hacienda, pero posteriormente los habitantes fueron donando piezas encontradas en excavaciones o expediciones arqueológicas. Cada pieza guarda un valor histórico de la época colonial y además cuenta con un gran documental compuesto por fotografías de la historia local. El museo se compone de 4 salas instaladas en una casa comunitaria de la zona.
The museum was born as a proposal to commemorate the birth of the Liberator Simón Bolívar, but it was not until 1990 that it was inaugurated under the name of Museo Histórico Simón Bolívar de Mulalo. Initially, the museum only exhibited sculptures of the hero and his passage through the hacienda, but later the inhabitants donated pieces found in excavations or archaeological expeditions. Each piece has a historical value of the colonial era and also has a large documentary composed of photographs of local history. The museum consists of 4 rooms installed in a community house in the area.
Se cuenta la historia de que el Libertador Simón Bolívar descansó por un tiempo en la hacienda, llegando un 24 de diciembre de 1821. Además, dejó un amigo valioso en la hacienda: su caballo blanco, quien falleció allí. La comunidad tiene un espacio donde guarda sus restos en un lugar muy bonito. Las herraduras del caballo están exhibidas en el museo. Además, antes de irse de la hacienda, Bolívar liberó a los esclavos del pueblo, marcando así el inicio de las liberaciones en toda América hispana, un momento histórico para la humanidad.
The story goes that the Liberator Simón Bolívar rested for a while at the hacienda, arriving on December 24, 1821. In addition, he left a valuable friend at the hacienda: his white horse, who died there. The community has a space where his remains are kept in a very nice place. The horse's shoes are exhibited in the museum. In addition, before leaving the hacienda, Bolivar freed the town's slaves, thus marking the beginning of the liberations in all of Spanish America, a historic moment for humanity.
Sin duda, es un lugar para conocer mucho de la historia de la época colonial, con abundante información y piezas históricas increíbles. Uno de los mayores atractivos del pueblo es la tumba del caballo Palomo, como lo llamaban los pobladores, ubicada junto a la iglesia.
Undoubtedly, it is a place to learn a lot about the history of the colonial era, with abundant information and incredible historical pieces. One of the biggest attractions of the town is the tomb of the Palomo horse, as it was called by the villagers, located next to the church.
En mulalo tambien los turistas tiene la oportunidad de realizar caminatas por los senderos cercanos, donde se puede apreciar la biodiversidad de la región y disfrutar de hermosas vistas panorámicas con un guía cuenta muy perfectamente la historia del pueblo.
In mulalo also tourists have the opportunity to hike the nearby trails, where you can appreciate the biodiversity of the region and enjoy beautiful panoramic views with a guide perfectly tells the history of the village.
