The reality of the new testament
Every time we talk about the new testament, we are talking about the practice of Jesus, it's also talked about what Jesus had put to an end to, the blood of Jesus actually put an end to what the blood of bulls in the old testament could not do. Everything about the old testament practice was pointing us to Christ Jesus our saviour.
The old testament was a pointer to the real thing that was to come and Jesus is that real substance, Christ is the promise, all the blessings that God promise Abraham was not just about material things but Jesus was the promise.
Everything about the old testament was about a particular set of people, even in the incarnation of Christ Jesus came for the Jew, we were all excluded from the group, this is why the Bible says that He came to his own and His own receive Him not and He them say as many that receive Him to them gave the power to become the sons of God.
But in the new testament everyone is completely involve because of the perfect sacrifice of Jesus. That action is express in the giving of Jesus Christ, and this has made salvation available for all.
Christ is our Zion, city, and our new world, this where we belong and live. We are all partakers of this new covenant, in the new we are spirit being full of life not just life but life eternal, we have lively hope in Christ Jesus.
David understands this, that's why he prayed in paslm 118:17 I shall not death but live to declare the works of the Lord. The reality of the new testament is life. Better day is here not to come, the old was death, condemnation while the new is righteousness and life eternal.
Note: You are better than the old testament saints, because in their time the holy ghost use to come and go, but is the new testament the holy ghost residence in us, that is the reality of the new testament.
