Things I'm not fond of at weddings:Hive Naija prompt week 44

Hello Hivians.
Hope you're having a great week.
I am , I've started a new semester and I can't wait to enjoy and go through every bit of it.

So this week,I got to see our prompt and I decided to choose the first one which wants us to talk about things we're not fond of in weddings.
So I'll give my own views.

I love weddings,it is a celebration many families pray for. The merriment and excitement that comes with weddings are on another level.
But then there are some things I'm not really fond of at weddings and I'll state them.

First I dislike the way people drag food at weddings as if they don't eat at home, some people even go ahead to cause a fight if they are not given food as if they contributed a dime to that wedding, this usually happens when a couple doesn't have a strictly by invitation rule .

Secondly, the extravagant list given to grooms most times is overwhelming, it's as if these couple won't live after the wedding, won't have expenses and won't raise their own family at the end of the day.
I know we have age long traditions and cultures but most times, the families of brides make outrageous lists and I totally dislike it.

Thirdly, I do not like it when people come for weddings and the gift you're presenting is not tangible,if you won't give a tangible gift then don't give at all .
I've seen incidents where a couple opened up their gifts in the hotel room and most of the things they saw were plastic plates, beautiful packaging, colourful wrapping paper but no tangible gift.
It's so sad .

The last thing I'm not so fond of is when a wedding is taking so long at the church, it's always being tiring, let's finish up with those vows,say a big Amen for the couple and head out for the reception if any will hold.
These are the things I dislike in a wedding.
