Do you ever watch them in Machete order?

"The "Machete Order" basically cuts The Phantom Menace from your movie rewatch, because many people don't enjoy that film." Therefore no, I love the phantom menace. The greatest lightsaber battle is duel of the fates, cutting episode 1 because people don't like it is an insult to george lucas. That movie just keeps getting better. I would cut the sequels, which are trash.

No you watch the lightsaber battle but not the rest of the movie because it's pointless as fuck. RIP Qui Gon. Machete order was invented before the sequels and it's the objectively best way to watch the movies but go ahead and huff copium and pretend like young anakin, gungans and midichlorians adding such a huge amount of value to the franchise. That's why they are prominently featured in the rest of the canon George Lucas created. Oh wait... they're not.

Whatever you quoted obviously doesn't understand the purpose of machete order. You can watch Menace if you want it doesn't really change that much. Laughing at Phantom Menace fails was a great meme at the time you can't just add additional context to that by pretending thats even saying anything about that movie compared to the sequels. It's about the order you watch the other movies. It's designed for the lens of watching the first 6 movies for the first time in a certain order to show the fall of anakin, avoiding spoiling Vader as anakin. It increases the depth of the prequels/sequels. Pretending it's a slap in the face against Lucas is blatantly false.

Lets ask him, if he thinks Machete is the best way to watch the movies. I doubt he would agree. Also I do not like the sequels and that is my opinion, so you are welcome to disagree if you do like them.

Liking or disliking the sequels is a terrible straw man that doesn't have anything to do with machete order. You looked up the most disingenuous quote about machete order and refuse to do the most surface level of research or engage with the purpose of machete order. The phantom menace can be the worst part of the first 6 movies and all the sequels can be disregarded as terrible. These two ideas are not mutually exclusive. Plus your argument of Duel of the Fates has a slippery slope. If one fraction of a movie makes a whole movie good, people can argue The Last Jedi is great because of this scene.

Also as I said before Duel of the Fates is generally included in machete order even if the rest of Phantom Menace isn't. If you have to use the sequels to make a case for why phantom menace is good, then your argument is a completely lost cause.

20 years later George Lucas' opinions on Phantom Menace. TL;DW it's made for 12 year olds and that's why people don't like it.

As a 12 year old star wars fan, I loved it, and I still do. However I watched attack of the clones last night, and it was great. In my opinion the sequels aren't as good as the prequels, and definitely not as good as the original trilogy.

Machete order predates the sequels. It's just that phantom menace doesn't have that much to do with telling the underlying story that the first 6 movies are about. It's basically just nonsense filler that gets picked apart easily.

Not only does the movie itself backpedal on it's own plot holes, Lucasfilm pivoted the rest of the prequels based on the public reception. George Lucas even admits it was poorly received and it was his decision to move away from the style even if he thinks people are too hard on it. He knows it's not a good movie. It's ok to take risks and then not double down on them when they turn out poorly. That's a sign of a good filmmaker to me.
