Rising Star - Cheaper to Buy Packs or Purchase Individual Cards?
I like to play games and there are plenty of games here on the Hive Platform for everyone's different interest. I love them even more when that fall into the Play2Earn category. Also, these games have an investment aspect to them as well with the NFTs that are used to play the game. Just this past week, an NFT from Splinterlands sold for almost $700k on WAX. It was a Region Land NFT if I am not mistaken. I would love to have an NFT worth that much.

I had seen lots of post prior to that but finally made up my mind to join because it is entirely free, no initial investment at all - zero.

I started playing four days ago. When you start playing, you do not have any cards and start out as "The Busker" It shows I have 107 Fans however only 10 of those are permanent the other 97 are "Temporary Drunks" that expire after 12 hours.
In the four days, I have made it to Level 7 and earned 2049 Starbits. During that time, I have completed 67 missions: 26 Illegal Busking, 30 Open Mic Night and 10 Mid Week Support.
Where do I go from here
Since I have over 2000 Starbits, I could purchase an instrument, or some fans or a people card on the market.
Or I could save my Starbits until I get 10,000 of them to purchase a pack of three cards or I could save up on of the other tokens to get a new pack.
Or wait until higher level
I know that at level 10, I can start Music Lesson Missions. The Singing lessons do not require an instrument but I will probably need one later on. With Basic Singing Lesson, I would earn skill reward points and a lot more XP.
Which direction do you think I should take
I know it will be another day or two before I get to level 10 but I was wondering if I was even heading in the right direction to advance in this game. Let me know your thoughts because I would really like to advance as quickly as possible but only use the winnings and re-invest them in the most efficient method possible.

Since you don't have ego yet (level 15), I suggest going the route of a pack. The pack guarantees a rare card but it may not be a vehicle or musician that you need for unlocking missions though.

At the beginning you need some fans and skills to progress. It can be a very good idea to buy some cheap cards on the market that come with both. You can get cards already for less than 1000 starbits.

Anytime. I appreciate the information. It seemed like a logical choice to start playing since I had been reading your post and it seemed like a fairly straight forward game that did not take a lot of time to play so the return on invested time would be higher than normal.
Thanks for the shout out, BTW for area 2 in rising star you need an acoustic Guitar NFT & vehicle NFT to advance, Keep that in mind when buying NFTs.
With you helping me so much over the past few months, it was the least I could do. I will make a note of those two things so I can create a plan for them. Thanks for the advise.

I'd probably do a couple of things as and when you can afford:
1 - Buy Cold Pizza Slice cards/Discard Pizza Boxes as soon as you can so you can refill
your energy and do more missions.
2 - Buy specific cards for Fans to enable you to do other missions.
I wish I'd have known particularly about the Cold Pizza Slice cards when I first started playing!

Glad to help - Pizza slices are best (guaranteed 100% refill every 24 hours). Pizza Boxes refill at random depending on your luck - on the upside if you're lucky they can refill multiple times a day though.
