Vintage Photos - eBay Set #2 (274-277)

I made some impulse buys after getting a new scanner and picked up a huge batch of slides a while back. These pictures span from as early as the late 1940s to as late as the early 1990s. These were from Goodwill and eBay (sometimes via estate sales). There are many thousands of these slides. I will be scanning some from time to time and posting them here for posterity.

This set continues a batch of slides that I bought on eBay a while back. I don't have as much to go on as to the ultimate origin of these compared to the previous batch I was working on. They came to me from eBay and most likely were picked up at an estate sale by the seller. Most of them seem to be taken in the 1960s and same individuals are included in many of the photos. It looks like there are some that were taken in Miami and some that were taken in New Jersey and perhaps elsewhere. I get the impression that Miami was a vacation spot for this family.

The first photo was processed in April 1965. Since this appears to be an Easter dinner (looks like they are having dessert). I'm assuming this is Easter 1965. There was a similar photo in the previous set.

The next two photos were processed in August 1966. They look like vacation photos to me and since this couple seemed to like vacationing in Miami, that's my best guess as to where these might have been taken. One of them was taken inside a motel room and the other looks like it was taken outside of a restaurant.

The last photo was processed in June 1969 and features a cat in silhouette.

I get a kick out of seeing these glimpses of way back when. We only ever see the lives of famous people and it's easy to forget the mundane every day existence of previous generations. The 60's is always presented as a tumultuous crisis, but just like today, despite the constant crisis mode, people lived their lives and captured random moments in Kodachrome snapshots. People really don't change much.
