Around the Forest in Colour and Black & White

DSC00652.jpeg

Walking around the “Community Forest” here in Cranbrook, British Columbia, a few things caught my attention. Nothing too unusual, but interesting and cool in their own way — typical things you would find in a forest. For example a tree stump, not just any old stump, but one with 4 blatant holes. Also a large rock or two, with interesting colours and patterns, just sitting there kind of out of place. Then you have your typical trail surrounded by trees, complete with their shadows cast to the ground. Thanks for stopping by.

I think the rock itself is a thing of wonder from nature itself. I think nature gives us the most beautiful things that absolutely catches our attention. I love the tree stumps lol, but the pattern on those rocks are on another level of beauty.

It was just sitting there as if it didn’t belong in that spot. Just a big rock that caught my eye.

That stump with the four blatant holes is the keeper of the walk, and I would shoot it in black and white while the patterned rocks get the colour treatment.

Wouldn't disagree with that! Thanks for looking.

I'm down in Ontario, so I'm getting the same cooling-off weather, just none of your scenery.

As soon as I saw it, I knew it was a winner.

I wonder where the holes came from? Someone practicing sharp shooting? It's a little to precise for a woodpecker. Someone made them for some reason, interesting! The orange colors offset it nicely though!

Nice forest pictures there, I like the rocks, they've been there for thousands of years and will be for thousands of more. Long after we're gone! I'm glad you had a chance to enjoy the community forest. You have Thanksgiving coming up on Monday, and big plans?

Closing in on our Thanksgiving yes, just a simple family get together with plenty to eat. Pretty standard year after year. Anything special planned for yours?

Not until November, so just plan to have my son and his girlfriend over. No big plans!

Sometimes smaller plans are better than big plans.
