Autumn Nature Talk

Ok, so you ask, “how can this be an autumn nature walk, when autumn does not begin till September 23rd?”. With the leaves already turning colours, it may as well be autumn I say! We have now passed from Summer to Fall (more or less). My favourite season is Summer, but coming in as a close second is Fall. It’s all about outdoor activities for me. I can do the most in Summer, and just about as much in Fall, but not quite. Winter and Spring are a toss up. Spring is a transitional season, which means it can be a messy, muddy, sloppy season for outdoor stuff. So I guess, Spring is my least favourite season, although the very end of Spring is usually fine. Of course this can vary. Thanks for coming along on my Autumn Nature Talk.

Yup I'm seeing everything falling early too here, the transition is amazing, so colorful, such beauty in nature.

Almost my favourite time of year (I guess sometimes it is).

Interesting to see these pictures. In my country (Surinam) we don't have these seasons. We only have summer and rain... I love both colour and b/w photography. Looking forward to join the community...

Hey! Daveks some wonderful shoots again. Been busy with work lately, so I couldn't come for your photography. I really do love summer seasons too because that's the only season for relaxation and spending quality time with my family.

I love the second shot showing the sky! All are really amazing. Thanks for sharing.

I wonder if your birthday is in Autumn? That always makes it special.

Nope. My birthday is in the middle of summer, but what I remember most about my childhood is when my father brought us to the mountains when I was a child. We were a group of friends and family. The trees along the path change colour, the leaves turn yellow, and there were yellow and dried leaves everywhere. That was a memorable childhood moment for me.

That sounds like it was an incredible experience as a child. Very memorable for sure.

Autumn in Tokyo is spectacular. The skies are big, the weather finally stops spazzing out and life slows down a bit. I imagine Canada starts freezing already though.

Not quite, come October the weather can be sporadic, once in awhile there is a bit of snow by Oct 31st, but not usually.

Please excuse my ignorance on this subject my dear friend.. but what is the significance of the 22nd of September? Is that something to do with length of day/night? ..or something else? Awesome pics as always. Really enjoy your posts mate!

That is considered the first day of Autumn. I didn’t know either, until looking it up the other day!

How about winter? I don't have as many Seasons as you have over there in Canada. I was thinking Winter would be your least favorite, since it seems like it's not really good enough for outdoor activities.

If it has just snowed then definitely no. A few days after though, the snow gets packed down via other people walking about etc. Then it is fine. Hiking with elevation to deal with requires snow-shoes. Not for me really, so in winter I stick with mostly 0 elevation gain/loss kind of activities, and sometime I even ride a mountain bike too.

The autumn foliage in Japan is more interesting than what I've experienced here in France. I feel like I'm hating the cold season here in Europe. I am Asian by the way I used to live in an island paradise. I'm freezing already when it's below 18 degrees Celsius. Haha! Maybe I am just getting old after having kids. I enjoyed my springtime in Taiwan and autumn in Japan. Yeah, I hate the cold but when I skied in the French Alps, it was fun.

Nice, what part of Japan do you live in? Fall in Japan is quite pretty. I did live there for awhile a few years back. Thanks for visiting.

I just visited Japan for tourism but witnessed the autumn foliage in Tokyo. I never made it to Kyoto for autumn which has the best autumn foliage but I've been to Kyoto during the end of spring and start of summer. Just a comparison, the cold autumn was more tolerable in Japan than what I am experiencing here in France. I just want to hibernate here in France. hehe!
