Back From Forum Falls
Heading back from Forum Falls, a few random captures, a few views that caught me eye here. Notice the reddish colour of the earth on the first photo; this area of Waterton park is known to have excessive iron deposits here and there. The trails and mountainous regions tend to have reddish soil, a phenomenon if you will, and kind of pretty too. On this particular day I managed to do two separate hikes, something I don’t usually do. Oh I slept well that night! Thanks for stopping by.

That's such beautiful photos... And I've never seen red soil in person. Usually, we have black and brown soil here. 😅

An interesting random image, my focus was drawn to the last image. A fallen tree on fire, at first glance it looks like a large snake.
A remnant of the 2017 forest fire, as far as I know.
Never knew excessive iron deposit can actually can make the soil red, I thought it was just some grass covering that vast landed area that actually made it red.

For red rocks and soil just head to southern Utah, it's everywhere... Especially around Moab, Utah in Arches National Park and Canyonlands!

Two hikes in one day will exhaust you for sure, glad you were able to get in a great workout! That log is pretty cool, kind of serpent like bark on it as it decays away. Very cool picture!
So cool, one of these days will need to explore that state to it's fullest.
