Blue Lagoon

DSC00206.jpeg

Well I guess the water is actually more turquoise than blue! This section of the river Kootenay seemed more exquisitely coloured than by the bridge, which we walked by earlier. Perhaps due to the sun vs shade ratio. Beautiful isn’t it?! In the mountains, you do frequently find this kind of turquoise blue water, due to glacial rock powder suspended in the water. This phenomenon in not unique to Canada, but is prevalent worldwide. Just gorgeous. Any glacially fed lakes or rivers around your place of residence? Thanks for stopping by.

What a beautiful color! Our lakes and rivers flow through rich deep black soil which causes the waters to be a muddy brown color. I would love the water to be turquoise

I suppose you would need to go to the alps to see similar turquoise lakes and rivers.

The scenery this time is truly spectacular. The colors are absolutely beautiful, and the shape of the flowing water is stunning as well.
