Photography Lovers

Part of the journey to Helen Lake, involved crossing this magical Creek. I don’t know what it is about crossing a Creek or Brook, but it certainly enhances the hiking experience for the positive. Adds a bit of a thrill you might say. Nothing difficult about crossing a Creek, unless you loose your footing of course. Just cross carefully. No brainer right. Photos taken on the return hike from Helen Lake, Banff National Park, Alberta.

My best guess for stream terminology is that the subset brook includes small streams over rough terrain as seen in your pictures here, while creek is a large stream of sufficient breadth and depth that you can navigate it. Just don't be up the proverbial creek without a paddle!

I prefer the color images, but I can't deny the appeal in the black-and-white versions with the emphasis on aggressive rock texture contrasted against flowing water.

The algae on the rock flowing with water really looks slippery, so it wouldn't be that nice if someone losses their footing. Beautiful experience though, it's a lovely place.

I love the view of the first photo and that stream... I would love to soak my feet while crossing into it like what I always did back in the countryside when I was in primary school. The colored one shows the details more but both are nice.

Only the top half of that first photo was visible on my screen. When I scrolled down, I gasped in awe. That looks incredible. Can only imagine the sound of the water splashing down that stream. Very cool mate.
