Hazy Pyramid Lake

DSC06560.jpeg

It was a jam packed day full of activities, and visiting Pyramid Lake was stop number three for today. Previously we circled both Annette and Edith Lake, both tiny lakes in comparison to Pyramid. The goal here was not to actually hike around it, but to walk out to the tiny island via this walking bridge. So we did. Notice the non-blue skies, and more of that hazy air, thanks to the unfortunate forest fire activity in the general area. It seems that our day in Jasper was destined to be smoky. Oh well. This tiny little island is not really even an island, it is that small. It took only about 3 or 4 minutes to walk to the far end. Apparently it is a popular spot for weddings, as there is a gazebo on site for such things. Photos taken last July inside Jasper National Park.

Hazy but still a magnificent place and shot's. That last black and white bonus shot of the mountain top is amazing, so nice.

Thanks, the colour version didn’t turn out so well, so I didn’t publish it. Have a good one!

A simple change of color can provide different meaning, depending on the perception of the viewer, this is not just a photograph, this is an art. Good job, have a nice day @daveks ❤️ I love your works

A few more shots, but unfortunately I can't see blue anymore today because it is covered with fog around the lake

The hazy skies did somewhat get in the way for sure. Thanks.

The haziness caused by the smoke gives it another kind of attractiveness though it mightn't have been easy for you as a hiker.
I loved the foot bridge.

Yes, that foot bridge was special in its own way. Thanks.

Pretty! Hopefully next year there won't be any smoke! I like the bottom black and white, the contrast came out really nicely one that one!

It can be seen that the bridge was recently rebuilt. But the railings are old.

Three different photos and three levels of enchanting photographic magic!.... My favourite is the impressive vertical one from the bridge to the "Wedding Island"... I liked it even more in black and white!... Thank you so much for sharing dear friend @daveks!.... I send a round of applause and a big round of applause for your work!

Nice! Very different looking than the Pyramid Lake in the desert down near me. (Lake Tahoe's water runs down the Truckee River and fills up the Pyramid Lake in Nevada, outside of Reno a bit.)

Yeah I’ve heard of the one down south. I bet there is a third somewhere outside of North America too!

There is at least one other that I know of! There is also a Pyramid Lake near Los Angeles that I visited a few times as a kid (I was raised in LA). When I first moved to Tahoe and people told me that Lake Tahoe's water flowed down to Pyramid Lake, I thought they meant the one in LA, 450 miles away, lol. It blew my mind, but I eventually figured it out...
