Ice Cold by the Partially Frozen River
A couple more Ice Cold photos taken in sub-zero temperatures, but as you can see, not cold enough to freeze the entire river over. In fact the river never completely freezes. At the most extreme, about half of the river freezes. There is a power plant nearby that emits just enough hot water to keep the river flowing year round (as far as I know). A typical day on the western Canadian tundra.

Gosh! I hate when that happens! It takes all my ice skating and snowmobiling across to the other side, taking the winter-only shortcut.
Good on one hand, but... I really don't mind the frozen water. :)

I dare to ask what was the temperature. In my experience when the temperature is so low the cameras do not work well, the batteries drain very fast.
I used the smartphone, and it was a rather quick in and out, so barely affected the battery. Around -15 or so.
