Nature Walk Continues
Our lovely nature walks continues along the riverside. Would also have been a nice day for a canoe or kayak ride wouldn’t you say? Maybe even a dip in the water perhaps, but for today we will just stick to the nature walk. This particular walk was nowhere near any mountains, pretty flat actually. Truth be told, I would have preferred to be somewhere in Banff yesterday, but it is not always possible. So made the most of the terrain and managed to have a fun leisurely afternoon. Do anything fun this weekend?

This a good walk with nature. What is this yellow part in first photo? Flowers?
It’s a canola field. Thanks for visiting
That 4th photo is coo, awesomewater
Thanks bos
We went hiking in Kananaskis twice over the weekend. Elbow lake and Rae glacier is a good one to do if youre looking for ideas.
How long was each and which was best, and what kind of elevation gain?
They're in the same area, you have to walk past the lake to get to the glacier. Like any glacier hike, you can go as close as you want to it and turn around as feel fit. We did about 400m vertical and 8km round trip from the parking lot. The lake is maybe 100m above the parking lot and there are young children there. The hike up to the glacier is less crowded.
This photo looks back from the Glacier but gives you a taste of the hike. We don't like using hands when hiking so it's not difficult.
Thanks for the info. I will add these to my list of hikes!
I like different terrains when I am walking/hiking. It offers up different things to see, although I will admit the views on Banff are pretty hard to beat!
The birch trees are always a beautiful sight to me, one of my favorite trees... Honestly, I think they all are my favorite at one time or another.
Picked Raspberries and made jam this weekend. The house smelled heavenly. :)
Wow,making your own jam. How long have you been doing this?
Since I was a kid. My grandmother taught all of her grandkids, including the boys. :)
A tremendous natural vision my friend!... I love that first photo with a "sea of canola flowers" in the background!... Wow!
