Not a Christmas Tree

This is not a Christmas Tree. This is a fallen tree washed down stream and left for dead, in Jura Canyon, Alberta. Speaking of Christmas trees, do you get a real one or use the fake kind? When I was a kid, we got the real ones. I guess nowadays, it does seem like a waste of a tree to chop it down, only to use for three or four weeks then discard. What say you?

We got a fake tree. Probably should get a real one, but fake is the easy button.

Sometimes easy makes sense, but not always.

Cool shots and looks like a discarded Christmas tree. Currently I've been doing a fake tree it's just much easier lol however at some point when I get my own lot of land I want to have a few I can go back cut down use for a tree and then turn into firewood after. That seems like a wonderful cycle life.

That would make a lot of sense actually. I would hope to do the same. Merry Christmas!

Yeah. Better spare the real ones.

You already saw my post about the very small tree I set up. On the family property, there is a need to clear small trees to reduce fire danger and promote understory growth, so it's not waste if we got a real tree.

That does make sense, given that scenario. Merry Christmas!

I really liked your photos my friend @daveks 🤗. I love black and white and color captures, I didn't know about that community, I'll look for it to join 🙌. As for what you say about real and synthetic trees, I prefer the latter, the fake ones. Greetings and Merry Christmas!

When I was kid we got a real one every year, new Christmas new tree. it was usual to seen selling spots in the streets plenty of trees to sell, during December. Nowadays I don't even have a tree lol (when I decide to have a tree is of course a fake one) and it's even forbidden to sell real ones

I have found if you have room for planting it in the Spring as well as a strong back, a live tree is a good way to go. Just beware of a hernia as those root-balls are no joke!

Although a real tree would be nicer, I'll probably take the easy way out.
