Rock around the Canadian Rockies
We’re gonna Rock around the Clock…I mean Canadian Rockies. Enough of the jokes. Here is a fallen rock, a chip off the old mountain you might say. I wonder how long this huge chunk of rock has been laying here? Definitely it would have come from the neighbouring mountain. Sure would have been a sight to see in real-time, as this thing tumbled down the mountainside! Makes for a perfect specimen to photograph for guys like me! Photos taken inside Kootenay National Park, British Columbia.

Rock around the Rockies, yea, that's a fairly carvd rock, probably 2 or 3 years to get those carvings in .
I bet it was a lot longer than that!

beautiful rock
Yes, a spectacle to see in real time for sure, but better being enough far away from the trajectory as it fell down the mountain!... ha ha ha :))
It is a fascinating way to observe this sedimentary rock @daveks friend, which would surely delight a geologist!

I am more in favor of color photos, I think for this case the color makes the rocks have more texture and warmth. interesting pictures and post. 👍
Usually my preference are the colours as well. Thanks for looking.
