Signature View Banff

DSC05935.jpeg

This is one of the most photographed views in Banff National Park. You might say it is Banff’s signature view! It probably is my favourite view as well. Usually every time we visit the area, I make a point of stopping here to snap away. Never get tired of this place. I do have a lot of photos in my library dedicated to this very spot. Some years back we rented a canoe to paddle around, allowing one to get some great mountain shots from a mid lake vantage point. Perhaps this coming summer we will do it again. This is Vermillion Lake, and Rundle Mountain in the background. Sulphur mountain can be seen in the second photo.

Looks like a place I could keep coming back to. Nice shots.

On a totally unrelated note, how's them wildfires treating you?

Not liking it too much. Western Canada is basically a mix of mostly smokey skies, with the odd blue sky day. Hopefully we can put this behind us soon. Thanks

I was afraid of that. When I was out that way in 2017 it seemed like half the west was on fire and that was bad but what y'all are getting sounds like it's even worse. Maybe I just need to come up there for a bit, whenever I go somewhere it always seems to start raining as soon as I show up.

Fingers crossed it ends soon, stay safe out there.

(Edited)

I took a photo of this view with an interesting foreground. I published it some time ago in my blog.
This view of Mount Rundle is quite magnificent.
Best regards.

@daveks The photographs, with these visualizations are very beautiful, of Mount Rundle, as always bringing to Hive, very striking photos. I wish you much success with your publication. Greetings from Venezuela

Overall, I'm a color photo type of guy, but I can appreciate the B&W too

I usually prefer the colours to the B&W’s myself.
