Standish Viewing Deck
Best viewing deck in all the Canadian Rockies, right here at the top of Standish Mountain, Sunshine Village, Banff National Park, Alberta. Views from the deck are just outstanding! To the left is tiny Rock Isle Lake, to the right is Larynx Lake, and to the far right is Grizzly Lake. All three are quite tiny actually. Now the dividing line between Alberta and British Columbia is actually about right here. So technically, you ride the chairlift up in Alberta, and explore the lakes in British Columbia! Neat eh?

Wait.. you can take a ski lift to that view? That's awesome and that location is now on my bucket list. Can you tent camp/backpack there? Looks like an epic spot for sunrise, sunset, and astro photography.
Yeah, it’s awesome! This area is for day use only, no tenting or backpacking. But, one can journey beyond this area to Mount Assiniboine, which is a full day away where camping is allowed.

The range on that camera is unbelievable. The coloured pictures are unreal. The lake and the water, seem like a scene from a sci-fi movie
