Sunshine Meadows ~ Sunshine Village

Sunshine Meadows is one of my favourite hiking destinations of all time. Located at the top of Sunshine Village, Banff Park, Alberta. It is kind of a two part experience you might say. The first part is the fantastic gondola ride from the bottom to the village, but wait, it gets better. From there you take the Standish chairlift to the very top. An amazing ride! The second part is the hiking opportunities at the top. Simply amazing actually. When we were there in July, there was still an unusually large amount of snow still up there. Because of that, two of the three lakes were not accessible unfortunately. Disappointment. We made the most of it though. Rock Isle Lake was open so we hiked out there. I will get into more tomorrow on the next post.

Amigo Sunshine Meadows, is a place very similar to the city of Mérida in Venezuela, where we have one of the largest peaks in the world, Pico Bolívar in the city of Mérida, in the West of Venezuela, a high mountain area with more than 5,000 meters high, where it is immensely cold 24 hours a day, that is, you develop excellent hiking practices, which is great. I live to the east in the city of Cumaná facing the Caribbean Sea, it is always hot, for now it is rainy weather. Excellent landscapes that you show. Successes

The first few moments on almost any gondola ride catch my breath! But being on top of the world like that? Amazing.
I am always surprised when the weather up there doesn't agree with the weather down at the bottom. (when there is snow!) It is like being in South America in the summer when they have winter. Just messes with my senses.
