Trail-Side Gems

IMG_20230901_151727_Original.jpeg

This will be the last post for now, writing about my hike to Elbow Lake, and then above and beyond to Rae Glacier. Every so often while on the hiking trail, something catches my eye and I come to a full stop. Like in the first photo, a pair of wild mushrooms, growing by the trail-side, I nearly felt like sampling one, but maybe it’s one of them poisonous ones? I certainly am no expert on wild mushrooms, but for now, a photograph will suffice. In the second photo, a severed tree trunk, with interesting rough textures and colours. Something about it just looked cool and fascinating. The third photo was a tiny body of water, perhaps an offshoot of the nearby stream. A light green algae of sorts (or is it?) suspended in the shallow water, with a streak of sunlight bouncing off it’s surface. A nice little find!

Awesome shot's, love the random stuff we find on hiking trails. Especially the mushrooms and trees, I have so many and haven't posted any of them but then again I got over 25,000 photo's that I still need to go thru from all kinds of trips.

It seems that on your trip this time you found a large mushroom, not only that, the moss in the water is also very interesting

I was really quite surprised to encounter the moss in the water or whatever it was.

Yeah, as much as I'd love to forage for mushrooms.. I would need to go with an expert - as the seemingly fun activity can prove deadly. Great looking ones, though. Is that an algae bloom in the water? More awesome photos - thanks mate.

Honestly I am not sure, at a glance just figured it was algae, but I could be wrong. Thanks for visiting @ma3str0.
