ESPAÑOL : Capitulo dos: Cuando todo el mundo reconoce lo bello como bello, esto en si mismo es fealdad. Cuando todo el mundo reconoce lo bueno como lo bueno, esto en si mismo es malo. Ciertamente, lo oculto y lo manifiesto se generan el uno al otro. Dificultad y facilidad se complementan entre si. Lo largo y lo corto ponen de manifiesto a su contrario. Alto y bajo establecen la medida mutua. La voz y el sonido entre si se armonizan. El atrás y el adelante se suceden mutuamente. Por ello, el Sabio maneja sus asuntos sin actuar y difunde sus enseñanzas sin hablar. No niega nada a las innumerables cosas. Las construye sin atribuirse nada. Hace su trabajo sin acumular nada por el. Cumple su tarea sin vanagloriarse de ella y, precisamente por no vanagloriarse, nadie se la puede quitar.

ENGLISH: Chapter Two: When everyone recognizes the beautiful as beautiful, this in itself is ugliness. When everyone recognizes good as good, this in itself is bad. Certainly, the hidden and the manifest generate each other. Difficulty and ease complement each other. The long and the short reveal their opposite. High and low establish the mutual measure. The voice and the sound harmonize with each other. The back and the forward succeed each other. Therefore, the Sage manages his affairs without acting, and spreads his teachings without speaking. He denies nothing to the innumerable things. He builds them without attributing anything to himself. It does its job without accumulating anything for it. He fulfills his task without boasting about it and, precisely because he does not boast, no one can take it away from him.
