(Edited)

So guys, recently I was looking for something to real but this time around I felt like reading a novel and I asked some of my friends for recommendation and they recommended more than ten novels to me. One of the novels in particular caught my attention because of the title given to it and I decided to read that first but that doesn't mean I won't be reading the others though.

The novel titled "An Unusual Grief" by Yewande Omotoso was the one that caught my attention. Honestly guys, this novel moved me so much with the themes of loss, identity and self discovery that it explored in a simple and heartfelt manner.

The story here was all about a Nigerian woman named Mojisola who was struggling with the sudden death of her daughter. Because of the estranged relationship she had with her late daughter, she decided to move into her late daughter's house so she will get to know the kind of life she built for ourself before dying. She ended up coming to an understanding about a whole lot of things.

Trust me guys, the writer did so well to beautifully craft this book as she was able to draw readers into Mojisola's world with very clear description and authentic emotions. I was reminded of the universal experience of grief and the power of human connection in healing while reading this book.

One of the things I love so much about this novel is that it lies in the exploration of cultural identity and belonging. I also love the fact that this novel was also able to explore themes of family dynamics together with the bonds that unite us across generations. Mojisola's relationships with her late daughter, was nicely portrayed with lots of sensitivity and depth and because of this, the enduring impact of love and loss was underscored.

I see the story here as that of life, loss and self discovery. I was able to witness the transformative power of healing and the importance of finding beauty and meaning during life challenges through the journey of Mojisola and I learnt how to be strong and hopeful in whatever situation I find myself.

To be honest guys, this novel is a thought-provoking one. The truth here is that Yewande Omotoso deserves some accolades because she did so well to craft a timeless tale of love, loss and the human spirit that will linger in the hearts of readers long after the final page with her simple but powerful storytelling skills. I totally recommend this book to everyone out there.

Grief strikes such a chord in me that I always find myself drawn to stories where the central theme has to do with loss and death. Thanks for the recommendation, it's a book I'll keep in mind!
