Photochain Challenge - CALL FOR FUTURE [and 144th Edition's Winners]

Hello!

As you read in the title of the post, this time I have some bad news. But I have to explain with a bit of story about the contest. Two weeks ago something happened that I didn't expect and that has now resulted in a slew of downvotes with which a circle of Hive users has decided to honor me. I will create a more detailed post in the next few days, but at the moment the gist of the matter is this:
THE PHOTOCHAIN CHALLENGE ON THE HIVE BLOCKCHAIN IS TEMPORARILY INTERRUPTED.

Except for some little help from some contest participants (which I obviously thanked and thank again today), from the beginning, for the weekly contest prizes, I relied on the earnings (various tokens) I was able to achieve with my curations, delegations and, mainly, with my posts. Today, this is no longer possible, because the downvotes I'm receiving go to reset the earnings I would have with my posts. Unfortunately, I can't do anything to stop them, because the reason for these downvotes started from the fact that the translations of an author's post: must not be published, or published without any type of possibility to receive a contribution/earning. As a result of my refusal to submit to this policy by some influential members of the community, I am (and will be) inundated with downvotes which will drop the value of my posts to zero. This is already the case for all the posts of the last week, including the one Photochain-tagged.

Here we come to the second point of the question: Photochain is a contest that I would like to continue to develop and keep alive, but this is not possible for me on the Hive blockchain following the adverse events I told you about. Continuing to do so here would only mean squandering what little income I've managed to scrape together in about 4 years of blogging and, more importantly for me, it would mean continuing to advertise to a clique of individuals whose ideas I consider criminal due to their discriminatory contents and actions.

And so I ask you, starting an official survey:
“If I told you that you wanted to continue the chain on the blockchain where Photochain was born, that is Steemit, what would you tell me? Do you have any contrary opinions for which you refuse, or do you think you can participate there?”
I repeat: unfortunately, at the present time, it is impossible for me to carry on Photochain on Hive. The choice today is whether to do it on Steemit or not to do it at all. I appeal to you to tell me what you think of a possible moving, and to make me understand if the contest could have a sufficient audience to go ahead there, at least for a while.

I'm sorry again for going so far, but the situation called for it. Having said that, below you will find the usual post with only the awarding part. The prizes will be sent as usual, while the Photochain Fund will be blocked until the possible resumption of the contest or at the end of the quarter that makes up the current amount of shares. Now I say goodbye and leave you to the awards. However, I ask you again for your personal opinion on the possible migration of the contest to the Steemit platform. I hope I explained the situation in a clear way.

Thanks, Davide.

Hello World!

The Photochain Challenge is a blockchain-like photography contest. If you would like to know more about, read the Photochain Challenge INTRODUCTION Post on HIVE. There, I explain the functioning of the contest and how to participate. I changed the rules for the winner prize several editions ago.

In this post, I'll announce the 2 (two) winners of the 144th Edition of the Contest. Within the next 72 hours, I'll reward both of them with 1 HIVE - as explained in the rules - and will post in the comment section of the 144TH EDITION the transaction confirmation links.

And the Winner is...

The 144th Edition counted 9 (nine) valid participants.

The two Key-Subjects were:

Tree(s) and Uniform

These are the 2 (two) Winners of the 144th Edition:

Winner 1

Eolianpariah2

with a parade "in red"

The personal subject is Parade

Winner 2

Adinapoli

with three young scouts
(and a little edit by me)

The personal subject is Socks

As I promised, I will award the 2 winners with 1 HIVE token each, and I will award the other 2 photos that I appreciated more during the edition with 1 HIVE SBI.

The first honorable mention:

by @apnigrich

The second honorable mention:

by @kvinkyl

Congratulations!

Thank you EVERYONE for participating in this week's contest!
@castri-ja @isabelpena @hindavi @apnigrich @eolianpariah2 @elitogold @prudens @kvinkyl @adinapoli

🎉A BIG NEWS!🎉
I received ECENCY POINTS to redistribute during the edition. So, I will award each valid entry with 10 Ecency Points (up to the 25th entry). Soon I'll send the Points to the last week edition participants.

The Feel Good community became an ARCHON-supported community , so you can enjoy the benefits of the Archon landscape, a community with its own token and reward system. You can find more information on the OFFICIAL ARCHON COMMUNITY PAGE or on its DISCORD CHANNEL.

A big thank you to @archonapp

IMPORTANT!!!

I explained in the Introduction Post that you can participate by submitting a photo in the comment section below: you must be the author of the photo.

The photo must contain the two Key-Subjects - that will be communicated in each New Edition post - and another key-subject of your choice (also contained in the photo). I also explained THERE how the key-subjects will change and the criteria with which I'll choose them.

SEE YOU SOON!

No worry. 😊 The more important point for me is: if I'll change the contest place to Steemit platform, do you think to can join there?

thanks for selecting my entry among the winners. it has been a great contest to participate in so i am sorry for the problems you have encountered to stop it.

personally and frankly, i have no interest in having anything to do with steem. due to my life situation i have already had to cut back on my participation on hive. if at some point in the future it is possible to continue photochain on hive i would be happy to join in whenever possible. in any case, thanks for hosting this unique, challenging and fun contest

I'm sorry to hear about that. I hope you can resolve the problems and resume the contest here. I have quit steem a long time ago and I won't go back there. 😖

This has been a great contest. It's a pity to see it end like this. 😔

At the moment, the problem is unsolvable. If there are people that consider their personal opinion above others, and use their strength position to force other or damaging their work, Hive is not what I seek.

Unfortunately things at Steem are not different so why even bother returning there? Besides that, the network is pretty much dead. Last time I was there it was a ghost town.

At the moment, the choice is or to take to the end Photochain, or to continue it on another platform. Steemit is the one where I can manage the prizes. If I meet this type of problem even there without any other choice, I put the end word on Photochain. Thank you for your opinion Trincowski :)

I am so sorry. They are damaging something that many of us have loved for a long time. This has been a great contest and all the work and personal funds you have put into the prize fund are deeply appreciated. I know how much work it is to run a contest and you have kept this one going for such a long time. Your dedication and consistency is appreciated very much.
I don't use Steem, but let's talk. There are other choices!

I know, and thanks to you. Other choices... maybe, but I have to choose based on the availabilities I have. Here on Hive, if there are people like them, I don't see any way. And Steemit is, at the moment, the only place where the contest can live with its usual prize.

It is not assured that there won't be people like them in Steemit. I think it is a bit more strict and regimented over there than in Hive. It could be the case of "Out of the pan into the fire" where the pan is Hive and the fire is Steemit.

I love this contest. It does not matter which platform it is held. It is the joy and the fun that I consider as important. So if you choose to transfer to Steemit, I will be there participating too. But as I said above, it might not be any different than with Hive. You will still have to live with people who will as you said it:

consider their personal opinion above others, and use their strength position to force other or damaging their work.

This, my friend, is the way of the world.

And so I have to change the road on which I am, because it's not possible to remain on the road where this type of people are. I know that it could be people like these, but I can't do anything different. If I find there a place with same problems and I don't have any other possibility, I will conclude this adventure. But now, I have to try. Thank you very much for your answer Gems :)

I cannot but agree with you, my friend. I do run blog at Steemit and from time to time I witness...let say, very nasty stuff, my experience cat be named positive no way. I even dare to name the situation corrupted and rotten, one need to kiss some assess to beat the game, which is surely no fun - definitely its a fire scenario, as you choosed to describe it.

In my opinion, TopicStarter should solve problems with Hivewatchers and bend over and give in to their written rules, other options are seemingly worse ... ehehe

Consider looking at Blurt. You maybe surprised by how many friends are already there. And no downvotes! ♥️

I know Blurt, and maybe I can join with my posts, but I don't have a tokens balance (input and output transfers) to think migrating there with Photochain. Instead, on Steemit I have little ingoing transfers, the needed that allow me to award the participants each week.

That makes sense then. If you want to start a new Hive account and delegate your HP to it to continue the contest I can help.

I already have the Photochain account, but the problem remains. I will not obtain any reward posting on Hive, and all the activities I had are based on it. And, second point, I find myself to promote people with an idea of justice I find criminal. I prefer to explore other ways, this one is too tight.

Grazie e a presto.

🙄
check my other comment(s) here.
@davidesimoncini sorry I noticed this too late

but on the other hand, you was followed by @spaminator for a long while, correct? and you preferred to do nothing instead of solve the problem. 'solving' it tho may be unacceptable, principled thing for you so I dont know. In my opinion, moving the Photochain to other blockchain will ruin it, cause, ehm, it is mostly people, and you cant pull the folks with you to another blockchain. If you have energy and positive vibes you can make attempt, to make a new Photochain, perhaps with other folks, and surely it will become something, on Blurt or on Steemit, but it will be a new thing, I believe more or less from scratch, and will demand a lot of time and energy from you, again, as it always in 'cases from a scratch'

My gues -- you'd better solve problems with Hivewatchers, try to obey the written rules and give your apologies, if you perform it all correctly, you will be forgiven, it's not an impossible thing. It's a far better scenario than showing a rock-solid integrity and losing your participation in this pleasant place, in the common home that the Hive is to us... 😪

but on the other hand, you was followed by @spaminator for a long while, correct? and you preferred to do nothing instead of solve the problem.

Not much time, 2-3 weeks before the Photochain stop about. I asked more times how to solve, but the only answer is to subdue to the personal policy. A solution is a situation in which 2 different parts arrive to a common agree about a problem, not a one where a person want you "must do".

you'd better solve problems with Hivewatchers, try to obey the written rules and give your apologies, if you perform it all correctly, you will be forgiven, it's not an impossible thing.

No, qwerrie, there isn't a way to solve the problem. The only way is to subdue a personal policy, the you "must do" I have written about before. The problem is that: I have to not post a translation, or I have to post it without any possibility to obtain a contribution. This is the motive for the accusation of recycling content, and this is a personal policy that I don't approve. The immediate problem after that is there are people that use their more strength position to impose a personal policy.

Photochain is Photochain, wherever it is. The participants are the only thing that maybe will change, and I am very sorry for that. Maybe the contest can't continue, maybe yes, I don't know. But I don't want to promote with my contribution a similar type of criminals as someone reveal itself.

Its hard to consume all the information in your second post. And my personal capacity is limited.

A solution is a situation in which 2 different parts arrive to a common agree

well, Hive Police do not consider you or me to be an 'equal contracting parties' no way. so "take it or leave it", indeed. issue about translating texts is a real issue. there are pros -- and there are contras.

if you're interested, I'll give you my thoughts.

translating into another language is work, time and effort and is the creation of a new work - that's a fact. but... we also have another fact.

Imagine someone uses a Deepl or Google translator and automatically gets a similar result... (or even many results; translated into 5, 10, 20 languages -> got 20 "new posts"). such an automatic result is not really good, one could even say its bad - for human reading and understanding. but for earning rewards, for abusing the rewards pool it is a very good tool.

The problem is that NO ONE will spend their lifetime to check the quality of the translation, there is no way to understand how the translation was made: a) was it a result of the personal efforts and time invested, or b) result of 1-sec pressed button.
you got the idea?
hence the lazy position of HiveWatchers: they have a general presumption that the translation is automatic. And never give even 5cents value to the translations. (Maybe they are EN native speakers - and dont give a fuck for non-natives like you and me, as well... not sure, but possible).

I hope my vision will clear up the balance of things a bit. Btw this is why I stopped putting efforts in writing good texts. I could publish and share a lot of intresting stuff, but I do not do that, as I know they will value it as zero. Sadly...

First, the SERIOUS thing is that a person is agreeing with someone who PRESUMES: this is always wrong because it means that the accuser is doing it without knowing anything about what is happening, but only based on their own interpretation.

The second point: it isn't important whether you or I use a translator or not, but it's important if we write information that we manage to send in an approximately correct way.

Third point: I follow all the terms and conditions that the interfaces for Hive and the general Hive ecosystem have released, and - in my case - I have instead met users who have taken the right of being in the position to force others to a policy that they think is the right one, users - it seems - as Hivewatchers.

Fourth point: you are generalizing the situation. Mine is a specific case, not a "Think if everyone does..." one.

Fifth point: I explained in the Hivewatchers server why two identical posts might not be pool abuse because pool abuse is when you obtain a double relevant reward for an identical post, not when you publish two identical posts. For example, you publish a post in a community, and then an identical one in another community, and then I vote for each of the two posts: I am creating (i.e. the voting user) the situation of pool abuse. But, moreover, it wouldn't be the author the abusing user, it would be the voting user. Like it is doing, Hivewatchers acts against an author due to a personal state of inability to deal with a problem, because it doesn't have the ability to act against the cause of the problem. (But I repeat that it isn't my case, because I am publishing two different contents, not the same one).
