Stand Egg day

No that's not the name of this festival. It's the first day of spring, in Chinese tradition this is the beginning of the year. You will be asking WTF(where's the food), aren't we having lunar new year right now? That's right, it's an entirely different celebration.

I'm not going to cover the technical part of the celebration, but one of the less traditional thing we do, is stand the egg 🤣 The Chinese word 立春 if being split into two different character, 立 is stand/erect, 春 in village slang is egg(or balls depending on which part of the Chinese region referring to). So, the local tradition being like, stand the egg become one of the Facebook ritual 🤣 whilst I don't post Facebook anymore, so you guys can see my ball egg standing.

Traditional Chinese calendar divides a year into 24 solar terms. Lìchūn, Risshun, Ipchun, or Lập xuân is the 1st solar term. It begins when the Sun reaches the celestial longitude of 315° and ends when it reaches the longitude of 330°. It more often refers in particular to the day when the Sun is exactly at the celestial longitude of 315°. In the Gregorian calendar, it usually begins around February 4 and ends around February 18 (February 19 East Asia time). It's also the beginning of a sexagenary cycle.

Anyway, the day so far has been quite positive. Below are some description of the photographs I've shared here.

1. Woke up pretty darn early, but dozes off at the sofa. By the time I reached the park, it was brigh.
2. I am very envy of those who have their kids going out with them at the park. My kids doesn't appreciate outdoor. Who else is to blame besides me and the home minister?
3. The giant castle by the hill, still in construction after so many years. I am really curious what is the size of the family going to live there, and where are they living right now. Not to mention the kind of drama they need to go through with such a huge mansion living together. Hey that's my underwear! Why are you peeking at me? No I'm not! Well how do you know I'm wearing your underwear?
4. I have been behaving yesterday evening. except I forgot to snap a photo of the braised pork belly and lard steamed fish to go with the salted egg long bean and the recombined meat filled tofu.
5. I was 78kg the day I got back from my home town, now it seems a little stable coming back to normal. A note to myself, I began the year with 76.0 sharp. I'm supposed to get down to 75.4 by end of January.
6. The family is less tradition, I went and stand the egg, and now getting ready to go lunch with the extended family.
