That senior officer

Once upon a time, there's a senior officer in the office in charge of recruitment. He was assigned to take care of a newbie. He gave his best training the new guy and even feed him with clients so the new guy can meet his sales target.

New guy doesn't really know what were the circumstances, took things for granted and never really bothered much. Until one day, a competitor company offered a job position and increment, the new guy decided it's about time to move on, so he resigned and moved on.

New guy joined the new company and found the culture was different. There's way more work then the previous company. Not only that, there's no senior officer taking care of business. The new guy now remembering he used to service some clients from the previous company senior, so he went and steal recruit those ex-clients. New guy is pretty sure he pissed the ex-company officer, but there's only what he can deliver to the new company to keep his job.

Many years later, the new guy is no longer new, as a matter of fact he's stuck in the "new" company for too damn long, and became a piece of furniture of the company. Anyone can sit on it, can fart on it, but the guy was stuck with the situation of being a furniture.

Little did the guy know one of the client still keeping both of them intouch, the senior guy from the previous company and what new guy at the new company. The senior guy learnt that the new guy is having difficulty and getting punched inside out due to company politics. Senior guy told the client, ask new guy contact him, senior guy may just be able to help the new guy by offering him a job at the old company.

A meetup being set, and finally after 9 years, they met. The new guy saw the senior on a wheelchair, and having dialysis QCC , it was heart wrenching moment.

The new guy immediately bust into tears saying sorry for stealing the seniors client. If not meeting up today, the new guy may never know what's going on behind the scene with the senior officer, whilst happily stealing business when the officer is on a wheel chair doing dialysis.

Senior officer made a few calls, and setup a short meeting with the chief, introduce the new guy to the boss and recommending for hire. And that new guy is me. He's a true gentlement for still offering me an opportunity despite the amount of damage I've done on him. If I ever become the colleague of that senior, I think I'm gonna stuck with him wherever he will go work for.

Was a super busy day, many business appointment and a short meetup with the senior officer. By the time I reached home, it's already too late for dinner and I spend the peanut butter for supper.

Wow, quite a story. So you're moving on, at last a new job opportunity. Sounds like your old senior officer is a good guy and worth sticking with. I hope this means a job that you are appreciated in.

Thanks Sharon. Not sure if I will get the job yet. His boss is kinda sharp, and I'm having a hard time answering some serious questions 😅

Is it possible for you to answer seriously? Haha. Although when you're having a rant you are serious. Best not rant at your soon-to-be boss though. My fingers are crossed for you to get the job 🤞
