Ipoh White Coffee

Ipoh town is famous for its hill surroundings, pretty boy and handsome girls due to the mountain stream offer splendid water source. Good food served at the restaurants, operate by low flash point boss that almost triggered by any form of customers as long one trying to ask for their turn. The usual reply is, "GTFO if you can't wait". Don't get me wrong, that's their style, the local usually sits down and quietly wait for their turn.

Can't take the kind of abuse? I know, consumer rights, right? 🤣 that doesn't apply here in Ipoh. They will ask you don't consume here. They run their businesses with different set of rules than the one the world is using. If you do not wish to take that kind of abuse, and still want to try Ipoh White Coffee, well there's another different but similar way in drinking white coffee. Buy a bag of premix and make your own cup of delicious coffee at home.

White coffee is nothing more than a simple premixed coffee. We called it white, for a fact that it has mixed with milk. Don't the Aussie call their milked coffee Flat White? Don't ask me, go Google.

Usually, our packaging are very honest. They even disclosed their "recipe" on the cover, stating these coffee bean are roasted with butter. Oh and one more thing, in Malaysia, traditional coffee house can't differentiate butter from margarine 🤣 so, you'll have to take a guess whether do they really roast the bean with animal fat or Vege fat.

Next thing in line, you should be extremely careful is where these bags are manufacturing. Due to the internet and widely available information, now White Coffee become "original" from everywhere around the world. If you wanted a true Ipoh taste, check the manufacturing place before you put down your order.

Packaging come with all kinds of shapes and sizes, that doesn't really matter as long they're sealed airtight. What is important is the net weight each individual package. The minimum weight per drink should always be above 30g. If you find any of these less than 30g, Houston Ipoh we have a problem.

Pour the premix into a cup, and check the content. I understand traditionally, we usually fill in the water before putting in the premix. The reason I do it opposite is to gauge the "thickness" of the drink.

Imagine, if you half a full cup of hot water in it already, and then you throw the premix in and found too much water, what are you going to do? To NOT enjoy the watered down coffee? Or open another half a bag of premix to thicken the coffee? 🤣

Finally, taste test before you add further water into it. This colour is usually how I like, and the taste will not be far from what I expected.

I've long given up McDonald's sewage tank house "poor" coffee, I usually make my own white coffee to go with McDonald's Nuked muffin. Yes, ever since pandemic, McDonald's muffin is no longer magazine cover worthy anymore.
