10 things to do before I die

(Edited)

This is an expired entry for the recent ASEAN HIVE activity, to write about a "to do list". If I tell you I did wanted to write the post and then totally forgotten, now only I started writing it and pretend to me NOT wanting the prize, will you take my words? 🤣 in all seriousness, with recently @gooddream increased his share of delegation, I find myself more motivated to participate. I did even more personal upvotes than I previously have despite my current effective HP is as low as 5k(I think slightly less than that).

Ok. Instead of giving you a list, I'm gonna put it down in essay format below. Instead of to do list, I'm giving you my top 10 life time goals. Some already achieved, some still work in progress.

  1. To own a sports car
ever since I was a child, my biological brother took me out for a spin in my dad's old Proton, he shown me the underground racing scene. The roaring engine induction noise, tire screeching sound, the heavy unfinish burning gas fumes penetrated deep in my mind. I have always wanted to own a sports car. At the age of 20, I purchased an RX2(have you heard of RX7? that's the great great grandpa of it🤣). Still a sports car though, except it required a lot of time and money to fix it.
  2. To have an absolutely beautiful girlfriend
here's a problem. Every kids has their life time goals spelt incorrectly. That time I was looking up for Cindy Crawford, and today I'm still looking at Cindy Crawford's poster from 35 years ago 😅 I had a couple of official relationship with some girls, they're as beautiful as I can remember they were. I don't have a girlfriend now, but I guess the home minister a.k.a my ex-girlfriend hasn't changed much in 20 years 🤣
  3. Retire before 30
if jobless is consider retirement, I already achieved it. matter of fact, I was jobless for 2 years at the age of 25 to 27. I did some freelance work, trading forex and burning bridges until I found I am standing at the middle of the middle of nowhere. I'm far from successful and I not quite near to bankruptcy. So I came out of retirement after I spent my last penny in the bank and went to become a telephony for the local tourist municipal 🤣 When you have no job, anything that pays you, better take it.
  4. To own a comfortable house
well, we did purchase a unit of apartment back in the mid 2000ish at a quite affordable price. We didn't stay in it, but opt to rent it out to cover the finance. Technically, the house still owned by bank until we sold it for a small profit that can't even pay for the interests we've paid for many years. Now, we're in an even bigger debts, with another bigger apartment in Kuala Lumpur. I did a rough calculation, if we sell the house now, I will have to pay the bank for another 15 years for nothing 🤣 that is considering if I don't die in between the repayment.
  5. Go to US
Ultimately, I just wanted to smell the air, kiss the land of opportunity and that will be all. I guess it was influenced by Hollywood, visiting US became one of the most important thing to do in my life.
  6. To shake Prime Minister Dr.Mahathir's hand
This is rather funny. Before I have a chance, he already stepped down. He was at the ex-PM office, I did have a chance to meet him personally on a business proposal appointment. I shoke his hand when he's not a prime minister. By the time he's a prime minister again, I was at one of his speech function, but am too far away to reach him for a handshake. Guess what, he resigned the prime minister post and lost all the credibility. I take this as an achievement despite the "prime minister" title wasn't with him the time I shoke his hand.
  7. Make 6 children
This, is likely not going to happen. When I was younger, I have this idea of bearing a bunch of kids, so we can play basketball together. Now looking at it, I got 2, at least ⅓ of the goal achieved. More importantly, I pray that they grow up safely l, healthy and happy. Oh, neither of them play basketball. I will check with the home minister see if she agree to make another 4 🤣 I think, the "process" of making is easier to enjoy, rather than putting in actual material to make babies ... if you know what I mean🤣
  8. Visit Cape Canaveral
I have always wanted to be an astronaut. As I grow older, only I realized the kind of investment and dedication I used, is at the wrong place 🤣 but I still wanted to checkout the Nasa home ground. On top of that, I wanted to visit NASM to see the space shuttle and SR71 with my own eye. Will be a plus point if F14 is still up for viewing.
  9. One week vacation at the white horse house
oh that Armageddon phrase! I've been to my local royal household, the guards having his right hand under the table when I'm standing Infront of the reception counter for visitor screening 😅 meeting the prince, I will have to be sure both my hands is on the table all time, or the guards is reaching for something under their jacket. Am wondering how they do it in the Merica way if I ever get a civilian tour.
  10. Have a ranch in Kiwi land and die there with my fellowsheeps.
This gotta be revise, now I have kids, and I never thought of who is going to pickup my body if I'm dead at the ranch. Also, I haven't even really plan on how to own a ranch so far away from my home country. Perhaps, I gotta change the to do list to, travel to NZ instead 🤣

So, there you have it. I know I'm full of shit, but these are some of my to do list that I have written down many many years ago. I think my mom already recycled my drawing board back in my home town. My immediate to do list is, to have a new whiteboard install at my current place, to write down some of the new short term goal and try to live a less pressure life.

Here, I'm also waiting for the arrival of the first NEW car in my life. New car is never in my TO DO LIST because I hate depreciation. It is now, if I were to use it for driving passengers. If I get a new job, I probably will not make use the license to drive for a living though, and this 2 years will be trying my best to serve the new company and see how are things goes.

You have got beautiful bucket list and many of them are funny as well.

Shaking the hands of the prime minister when he already became an ex still counts because he is the same person.

The world doesn't bear that lot of children anymore, 6? Even your wife wouldn't agree to this.

This is lovely.

There are many things in our wish list. As we grow older, some of the wishes become less useful like the one I have here 🤣 but it's fun to revisit what we've once wished for, what has been achieved and what hasn't.

WOW that is quite a list. I have only one I could think of at the moment and that is to win the lottery, big time, and everything will follow. 🤣

How often do you "invest" into that dream? My mom in law told me several times, put my "thoughts" into "action" to see the "results". One need to buy a lotto ticket to have a chance to win that prize.

Grateful she's a supportive mother in law, probably one of the coolest women in my life 🙏

Hi @davidke20, you are very clear about your goals and you have achieved some of them. Being the father of 6 children catches my attention, what you have to think about is how to support them, you forget that little detail, hahaha, thank goodness you only have 2. On the list you need to have a KFC franchise in 5 or more countries, obviously you are the owner, there you could get what you need and more, you can get it working in this panel, save the HBD , wait for a price increase and open the first one and so on

Thank you for suggesting, but KFC outlet is not in my wish list 🤣 I will die due to overeating fried chicken if I have one. I will die 5x faster if I have 5 🤣

I can relate to some of these. Sports cars are overrated. Girlfriends are overrated. I heard retirement was good. Comfortable houses are overrated, but I know your house now is too small and could use a big window with an ocean or mountain view. I wanted to have five kids when I first married. I'm glad that didn't happen. I don't want to shake hands with any political ruler. My hands sometimes get cold right before an important handshake. When I get old I want to live in a big white house... oh... some old guy beat me to it. I love 'Merica and a good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.

baaaaaaaaaaah will be the last thing you hear.
I just want my kids to be self-supporting before I die.

I'm actually pretty happy with my current house(rented). The house we purchased for a 40 years finance(by the time I the loan tenure is up, I'd be turning 80 and it's time to die), is at KL city center with a brilliant city view. We rented it out to support about half of the mortgage. The home minister said, it was an investment 😉 so I will have to agree. Wife is always right. Happy wife, may not have a happy life. But if wife not happy, my life is fucked.
