The anniversary 2022 #six

Crossing over

Whilst visiting the art street halfway, suddenly home minister decided need to visit the toilet. Once again, not like I can control how the water flows, so we headed to the other side of the street looking for a place so we can sit down for a drink and take a leak.

Whilst we're out, decided to cross over the old Street and have a short visit at the park. This row of shops clearly is not for tourist as these are local trading companies.

Clearly, traffic at the east coast is way better than Kuala Lumpur. I don't need to elaborate further, picture speaks a billion words. I like how they planned enough greens along the road, it's really easy on my eyes.

According to my work pal, she's from this town, but she's not getting as high paid in Kuala Lumpur. I guess that's why the younger generation no longer wish to stay in this place. However, I really don't mind retire here as it seems a lot less noisy compare to the big city.

The separator

Kuantan river is known to be one of the major separator of the town. It doesn't really split the town, but it runs from Sungai Lembing(we totally missed this very famous tourist spot), and through Kuantan town before flowing out to South China sea.

Coming here to take selfie with the huge Kuantan signboard by the shore is a must, otherwise very hard to convince others if you have visited this place 🤣

Tough decision

At the river side is the broadcasting tower. We're originally going to try our luck, thinking may be we should board the turbo lift and have a romantic revolving lunch at the restaurant. But then, we had seriously heavy breakfast, and the Starbucks drink, and then the crazy pork soup Bak Kut Teh lunch already. We simply find it too expensive to just go up there without having a proper sit down dinner to enjoy the scene. Spending less than 5 minutes taking picture come back down, think I will hate myself 😂

Between the art street, there's this side road full of cobbler. I don't see too many people repairing their shoes there, but those cobbler literally very busy fixing shoes. Another thing is, we also saw similar layout street with full of cobbler in Bentong town, the one nearer to Kuala Lumpur. Does it mean Pahang state is famous with their cobbler service?

Weather is not exactly too warm, but it's seriously humid in the air. My sweat went through my underwear and dripped it's way out from my pants. We're walking at the front row of the old yet colorful shops, can't decide whether should we go look for a mall to hangout or head back to hotel to take a nap.

2nd part of the art street

And then we decided to continue our exploration at the art street. Most of these wall arts were done at the back street of the two town shops. The road has been blocked from vehicle passing through, so tourist will have no trouble walking around.

More street art posing with the female tiger. Who doesn't like a birthday hot balloon ride?

And we found Mario not jumping out from the pipe, instead this one from a green garbage can.

Or got chased down by a huge gator?

There's several other huge 3D art on the floor, but it's just way too hot to sit or lying down on the floor to make those shot nice.

And we're at our last stop, home minister is getting ready to catch the black smoke Choo Choo train.

And after almost 3 hours spent under the hot sun, we finally done with the entire art street, and walking back to our car from the front row of shops, seeing tons of antique. This joke box for example, haven't seen these in years.

The view is very good. Moreover, there is a tower in front of it. Yes, of course it is very high, so we have to look up

Oh yes. Very tall tower. And you'll have to pay to get up to view the city.

I visited Kuantan many years back and the town has not changed much. Nowadays many towns have street art.

That's what the church people told me too, since the younger generation moving out, this town has been status quo for years. Couple of new malls were built though.

What a cool concept, I love that art street. The train is very realistic, obviously some talented artists took part in this project, the crocodile very detailed too.

I love the home minister's sense of humor in these shots, looks like you two had some serious fun.

Without the kids, she's instantly back to high school honey mode 🤣 those arts were from different artists, but ofcourse those who are famous will not hesitate to leave the names.
