The struggle of time management

I have a god, and God allow me to have 24 hours a day. I don't know if you have one, but we are all equal, having 24 hours a day. That makes time management is the only difference between someone who have lots of time to do lots of thing, compare to someone who achieve very little over a very long span of time. Seemingly busy, but accomplish nothing.

I've always been having issue with my time management. It's in my blueprint. Since I was young, I already learn the technique from my mom, turn the clock and advanced 15 minutes. So we think we will not be late anymore.

And guess what, we're still late, EVERYTIME. That 15 minutes advance already in the book, naturally our mind will subtract that quarter hours out from the equation. My children inherited the same style from me, which I'm gonna blame it to my mom now 🤣

You see, it's not the clock, it's our character. We can set the clock 30 minutes advance, or even 1 hour. It does matter if we decided to be late, we will find all kind of excuse to offset that advancement. Deep in our head, we know it's 1 hour advance, and we will sit back and finally late again.

I used to have a friend, also known as mentor to me since he's way senior than me in the industry. He's the guy whose always first one to be there. Even if we set a dinner appointment by 7pm, he usually will be in that area by 6pm.

So there's one time, our appointment was in the morning 7:30am. I found out I've got a flat tire by 7:15am. That's like 15 minutes and I believe I'm not going to make it on time. So I have him a call saying I had a flat tire, may be arriving slightly late.

And so I am late, probably by 10 minutes only. I sent my apology for being late due to the flat tire, and I got an instant sarcastic treatment. Apology does not replaced the loss 10 minutes. Instead of apology, "thank you for waiting" is way more positive than apologies. It's always about priority. If the appointment is important, be there early. If the job is important, get it done early. Do the one that matter first.

12:41am now, and I'm still typing a post for "yesterday". I should really start to change my lifestyle and set my priority straight. Or I will never have enough time to do what I like to do and be good at it because I mismanaged my time.

Yes .. I agree with you my friend, many people have problems with time management. and exactly as you said that this is a return to the character of each of us.

Well, if someone wants to not have a problem with time, even be good friends with him, then start from yourself to change our lifestyle patterns.

You've nailed it buddy. The change begin from I, me and myself.

If you feel like you don't want to work, then your job is a forced commitment.
If you can think of something you would rather be doing than working, congratulations you're better off than a lot of people. I'm not sure if this is even relevant to your post.
I'm bad enough at keeping on top of commitments for things I want to do, let alone forced commitments. I try to be a little early for things I don't want to do, but sometimes I'm late,

I feel like this in regard 👇

Oh wait, you totally reminds me of matrix 🤣 this is all a huge setup. It's a conspiracy of the matrix, that's why I'm stuck in that equation, live an ordinary life, be late for appointment every single time and blame it on the matrix blueprint instead. So, it's not the office space suck, it's the matrix suck 🤣🤣🤣

I like my work, I also like the people I work with. The problem is, I don't like the culture of that friggin J O B. I can always do the Tony Robin magic by saying it's not a problem, it's a challenge. But when we face the reality, it's a fucken problem regadless. If it's only a challenge, we have a choice to NOT take the challenge. When the challenge came from the JOB, sorry no can back off 🤣 Once again, who set the boundaries? We? Or the matrix?

If you see something as a problem and try to trick your mind into seeing it as a challenge, you're simply lying to yourself because you perceived it as a problem first and have to convince yourself otherwise while everything in your rational mind screams it's a problem.

It could be the matrix, but that just means that the unfortunate player who cannot perceive outside of the matrix is limited by its perceptual boundaries and enslaved to the societal structures in place, which is a problem to the player.

Sometimes people don't know how to cover up their delay, even though by telling what really happened and accompanied by apologizing for the delay, it has closed the mistake for being late. Very interesting story In this post my brother @davidke20 😁

Hi hi.. David.. people who turn up late are the nicest. I did not make that up. It's part of human nature. I guess, it is not easy to be early. I am also the type of person who always comes late.. hahaha.. the earliest is usually 5 minutes or max 15 minutes. =) If someone else is late, I am alrite with it. =) Nowadays, life is full of things... distraction. Not easy to be able to manage time like a pro. It's alrite to not manage time well but at least you have some order right. hahaha.. Have a great day, my bro.

The ole' flat tire excuse, sounds like your dinner date is buying this excuse. Sometimes the truth is unbelievable. My dog once ate my homework, but I was determined not to tell my teacher about it because it is the most stereotypical reason for losing homework. 24 hours has never ever felt like enough time in a day for me.

Well, I did call him 15 minutes in advance telling I could be late. From my house to the restaurant is only 5 minutes drive. I am making a lot of sense actually. Changing the tire actually took more longer than 10 minutes as the boot is cluttered pretty bad, I had to move things around before I can get to my spare tire well 🤣 considering a call 15 minutes in advance, and I'm only 10 minutes late, I thought I'd be getting away. But still, got the lecture anyway. He's not wrong, what stop me from getting out earlier?
