After that second memory, Wez sat in front of the piano for several minutes, thinking about everything that had happened. He could still hear that little girl’s voice and her last words—“Don’t let Elaris disappear.” He looked at the strange sheet music again, and there were more and more blank spaces, as if the music were revealing its secrets to him little by little. However, Wez was very curious to find out what Elaris was.

The next day, he carefully put away the sheet music and traveled to the city to see if he could find anything different or any information about it. When he arrived, everyone recognized him from the concert he’d given, but he didn’t let that distract him and went straight to an old theater, where there was a piano—it was a bit old, but perfectly tuned.

Wez sat down at the piano, opened the sheet music, and studied the series of symbols. He began playing note after note, and just as the third note rang out, the theater vanished, and Wez found himself in a vast library lit by thousands of candles; the shelves were filled with books, scrolls, and ancient sheet music. However, the strangest thing was that in the middle of the library stood an old man writing in a golden book, and he said, “You’ve come too late, and many have already begun to forget the name of Elaris—”

Wez was surprised, but the old man kept talking and handed him a small silver key, adding, “When the last melody is forgotten, no door will ever open again.” Wez didn’t understand, and just as he was about to ask a question, all the candles went out at once. In a matter of seconds, Wez was back in front of the theater’s piano, his heart pounding with a force he couldn’t control; moreover, another line of that strange sheet music had vanished.

Only a few notes remained, and each memory was shorter than the last, leaving many questions unanswered. But for the first time, beneath the strange symbols, a phrase appeared, written in very ancient calligraphy: “The third melody will open the door that should never have been closed.” Wez stood up and began to realize that those visions weren’t simply memories of the past—they were warnings of something that could still happen.
